Description:

Max Payne has been given this name on purpose. After his wife is shot by junkies, killing his baby as well, the policeman went undercover. He finds more pain there: his partner gets killed and he is the only suspect.

The game is a 3rd person 3D shooter which was in the making for several years. Your goal is to win a one-man-war against the mafia and solve the mystery of your family's tragic death. This is done merely by shooting your way through the levels. In contrary to most shooters the game is very linear, offering you usually just one possible route.

With Max Payne the developers introduced a new concept to action games. Everyone knows the action movies where time slows down, whenever there is spectacular action at hand. You can slow down the time in this game as well, allowing dodging moves, fly-by shootings, etc.

• This game is banned in Germany. The ban occurred on 29.09.2001.
• PC Gamer UK awarded the game 95% and regards it as "the most important action game ever made for the PC".
• PC Games Germany rated Max Payne with 90%

Cheats :

Start the game with the -developer command line parameter. To do this go under the properties of your Max Payne desktop icon (right click icon, then select "Properties") then change the entry for the program to "Target: "C:\Program Files\Max Payne\maxpayne.exe" -developer".
Press [F12] during game play to display the console window, then enter one of the following codes to activate the corresponding cheat function.
