Full Spectrum Warrior: Ten Hammers

Published by THQ, Inc.
Developed by Pandemic Studios, LLC
Released 2006
Genre Action, Strategy

Description :

Full Spectrum Warrior: Ten Hammers is the successor of Full Spectrum Warrior.

Although you killed the tyrant of Zekistan in the first game, the situation hasn't improved. A civil war begins to unfold and various insurgencies fight against the Western forces. Even ethnic hostilities erupt in violence. So once again squads of US Light Infantry are send into the country to secure the Tien-Hamir (or "Ten Hammers") Province. But this time they can call upon the assistance of the British elements of the Coalition Forces.

Like in Full Spectrum Warrior you are the commander of two Fire Teams called Alpha and Bravo. But now you can brake down a Fire Team to a Buddy Team consisting of the Team Leader with the Automatic Rifleman and the Grenadier with the Rifleman. In some missions you also have now access to a Bradley Fighting Vehicle which you control just like you control a fire team. In some missions you'll also find tanks or APCs which your Fire Teams can enter and use.

You can now also give orders to a specific teammate. So if you want to breach a door, you order the Grenadier to unpack the rocket launcher and make a nice hole. It is also possible to give orders to the Fire Team you don't control right now.

Unlike the first game, Ten Hammers doesn't feature a separate tutorial but you rather learn how to play in the very first mission.

The twelve missions of the campaign feature several different objectives like reaching a convoy or destroy a street barrier. Since your squads can now enter buildings you have a whole new tactical layer to use against the many foes that hide in the shadows ready to kill you. To support this new feature, you can now also deploy a sniper in a building and activate the sniper mode in which you can take out the enemies one by one.

The multiplayer-mode also got updated and features now the ability to play cooperatively with four friends or do a few 2-on-2 objective based missions.

Desperados 2: Cooper's Revenge

Published by Atari Europte S.A.S.U
Developed by Spellbound Entertainment AG
Released 2006
Genre Action, Strategy

Description :

Desperados 2: Cooper's Revenge is the sequel to 2001's Desperados: Wanted Dead or Alive.Once again you play John Cooper and his gang of bounty hunters. Though it's possible to play Desperados 2, much like its predecessor, in an isometric view, the game is rendered in full realtime 3d this time around, so you are able to zoom and rotate the camera any way you want. You can even switch the camera to third person view and follow you characters around, which helps a lot if you're moving inside a building or are having a shoot out with the bad guys.

After John Cooper's brother gets brutally murdered during the intro sequence of the game, John sets out to uncover the killer's identity and get his revenge. During the course of the story players have the chance to team up with old friends from the prequel, like Doc and are joined by an entirely new character, the Native American Hawkey.

The game is divided into several challenging missions, that have to be solved by using the characters different abilities to overcome large numbers of enemies. Some examples include the sensual Kate seducing enemies with her charms, while Sam blows things up with his dynamite and Doc heals his comrades.

Completion bonuses:
Successfully complete the game to unlock all costumes, slide show art, and movies.

Hint: Shrub pruning:
After fighting the minions in the ballroom, find the door that leads out the courtyard. Before you jump onto the poles, try trimming the shrubs with your blades to find a few hidden surprises.

Hint: Unlimited DeathFight:
On any part of the game when you have to destroy something such as fireplaces, fans, garbage trucks, etc., you can ignore those rules and keep fighting as much as desired.

Hint: Defeating Slezz:
To kill Slezz, the huge creature in the sewer, you must turn on the water by hitting the lever. Then, catch the men that jump at you in mid-air and launch them back at her chest. They will explode, and after awhile she will die. While doing this, you must be careful so that the people in the room do not attack you from behind.

Hint: Secret conversations from enemies:
Whenever you see enemies that are around the corner, try not to let them see you. Listen to what some of them are talking about. In other levels there may be enemies behind doors. Kick the doors and they may say something.

Hint: Picture of Delinda:
At the end of the game when you fight Kagan, before you actually fight him notice the pictures on the wall. Look for a female with black stripes on her face. You will notice other pictures of your past enemies that were fought.

Hint: Topiary:
Get to the place in the beginning where you are first learning to swing on the flag poles. When you get in, notice that there are hedges all around you. Keep attacking all the hedges until you find one hedge that blade will trim into a pretty bear topiary.

Rise of Nations: Rise of Legends

Published by Microsoft Game Studios
Developed by Big Huge Games
Released 2006
Genre Strategy

Description :

Rise of Nations: Rise of Legends maintains the hallmarks of the first RTS in the franchise (attrition, non-depletable resources, national borders) while improving on gameplay mechanics such as city building and large scale battles. In addition to these improvements Big Huge Games introduced several new features including dominances, neutral units, and capturable resources.

The sequel differs from its predecessor in that it takes place in a steampunk universe spanning autumn-dotted hills in the lands of the Vinci to blinding sandstorms in the burning deserts of the magical Alin. At the furthest reaches of the continent, hidden in the deepest jungles, lie the stone stepped pyramids of the brutal religious zealots known as the Cuotl. Through the Conquer the World (CTW) campaign players strategically guide a tightly knit group of heroes across the continent pursing monsters, love interests, power, and vengeance.

Rise of Legends also sports a Quick Battle (QB) component so players can jump right in to the action by selecting a map and one of the three unique races. The player’s final test of skill is to go head to head on Gamespy or LAN to explore the radically different strategies of the slow but god-like Cuotl, the fast but glass-like Alin, or the innovative but even-keel Vinci.

The campaign includes 52 scenarios with 15 heroes, while the Quick Battle and Multiplayer components include 42 maps for players to fight on.

Half-Life 2: Episode One

Published by Valve Corporation
Developed by Valve Corporation
Released 2006
Genre Action

Description :

Half-Life 2: Episode One continues the story of Half-Life 2. Beginning immediately after the end of Half-Life 2, Episode One follows Gordon Freeman (the player) and Alyx as they attempt to escape City 17 in the wake of the defeat of the Combine forces and the battle in the Citadel. The great unanswered question of "How could Alyx have survived that explosion" is answered, as are the fates of many of the other supporting characters from Half-Life 2.

Episode One is the first of what has been promised will be a three episode trilogy which, when completed, could be considered Half-Life 3. Since it follows the episodic format, it has only four to six hours of gameplay. One feature which extends overall game life, however, is the inclusion of a "Commentary" mode, which enables hotspots on each map where the player can listen to developer commentary explaining how or why certain things were done.

Players of Half-Life 2 will find the gameplay very familiar. No new weapons were added to Episode One, although all the weapons from Half-Life 2 have been carried over. Enemies, too are familiar, with only one new enemy, a new zombie variant. The most intriguing new gameplay element is the behavior of Alyx, who fights along Gordon's side for virtually the entire game. While the player still provides most of the offensive firepower, Alyx does provide a beneficial presence, and is far from the typical cannon fodder AIs too often found in FPS games.

Neverwinter Nights 2

Published by Atari Inc.
Developed by Obsidian Entertainment
Released 2006
Genre Adventure, RPG

Description :

This is a sequel to Neverwinter Nights , brought to you by Obsidian. The game uses AD&D 3.5 edition rules. As its predecessor, it comes with a multi-player feature and a tool-set that allows you to create your own campaign.

The game is set in Forgotten Realms, in the area around City of Neverwinter. The player has again the opportunity to play as a number of different races, but this time you can play as sub-races too - want to play a sexy drow, or does a naive wood elf suit more to your fancy, or perhaps a duergar will satisfy your lust, or even a tiefling if you bend that way.

The young hero of the game lives in the tiny village West Harbor with his (or her) foster father Daeghun. One day the village is attacked. Your friends are killed, and you barely survive. This is your first confrontation with a mysterious evil that threatens to take over Forgotten Realms. You must now travel to the big cities and to search for clues...

Unlike its predecessor (and similarly to classic Infinity Engine RPGs), party members will join you, and you'll be able to control their actions in battles. As you manipulate, influence, seduce and fight your way through the game, you will see terrible consequences to your actions - made a party member fall in love with you? Watch as he foolishly sacrifices himself for you. Angered some important noble? Watch as she is going to screw you badly over the course of the campaign.

The biggest novelty after all the shiny graphic effects, influence system and the diplomatic twist, is the new stronghold system - hire people from around the world to work in your castle, you`ll get your own tavern with dancing girls, to boot. The only bad thing about the whole affair is that sometimes your enemies want to play Helm's Deep with you and your stronghold.

FIFA 07

Published by EA Ltd.
Developed by EA Canada
Released 2006
Genre Sports

Description :

Enhancing the engine debuted with the and official 2006 world cup game, FIFA Soccer 07 includes enhanced ball and player collision physics and more player animations adding to the 16 trick moves and first touch ball reception introduced to the game engine with the previous games in the series. Players can choose between 2 and 10 minutes halves in three different game speeds and four different difficulty levels. 17 countries are included, along a "Rest of the World" for the best teams in championships left outside the game and international teams. Spain, England (with two), France, Germany and Italy also feature second divisions. Players can also create two clubs, customizing their badge, kits and home stadium, selecting players from anywhere in the game, along the starting budget in manager mode. The player creation tool remains mostly unchanged, with the ability to customize everything, from faces (with a complete set of options, from jaw width to eyebrow shape) to the appearance and playing abilities.

While the focus of this yearly update was on the game engine, the Manager mode was also enhanced: players now also improve their playing ability from being active members of the squad, forcing the player to choose between keeping his celebrated stars near retirement in the starting eleven, or give the benefits of the youth system a chance to shine. Another new feature, in what is now the primary mode of the series, is the ability to watch the game in a simplified text mode, with the ability to jump into action to turn the events still available. The points system was replaced by a less abstract currency model (with the ability to choose between Pounds, Euros or Dollars). Other game modes include Tournaments (including the creation of custom tournaments) and Challenges.

By completing challenges (similar to the Global Challenges mode in world cup 2006) the player can spend points in the Fanshop with items such as new teams, a special overhead camera, new balls from adidas (including all original World Cup balls from 1974 to 2002), stadiums, third kits and special celebrations for created players.

Finally, online gaming received a new mode: Interactive Leagues. These are online-only leagues based on the fixtures of their real counterparts (English Premier League, French Ligue 1, German Bundesliga and Mexican 1st division). Then, online players go head -to-head with their favourite teams with a victory counting one vote for their favourite team. Once the week is over, the team with more votes is declared the winner of the week, getting three points. The number of weekly matches a player can do in this mode is unlimited.

Requirements :

Cheats :

Hint: Easy goals:
If you have the ball and are outside the area but not on your half, you can check on the map how far the keeper is off his line. Normally he is about two meters. You can lob him easily if you get the power correct.

Hint: Easy unlockable points:
Advance through the game modes and select Tournament mode. Select any cup tournament, as they tend to be shorter. Select the highest rated team or replace a team in the tournament with a highly rated team from another league. Advance to Tournament Central and quick sim all the games until you have won the tournament. You will be awarded unlockable points to spend.

Hint: Easy money:
No matter what team you are in Manager mode, buy the best free agents in the transfer market. Sell them during the same transfer market window so you do not have to pay the high salary. Because they are free to you, once you sell them you can get the added millions to your bank account.

Hint: Preview unlockables:
Purchase unlockable items without saving your profile. After testing items, simply reload your profile to re-acquire the unlockable points. By using this technique you can unlock and test all the unlockables in the game.

Hint: Finding Giovanni Dos Santos:
You can find Giovanni Dos Santos in Barcelona's reserve list. Even though he is only 69 overall you can edit his stats and make him as good as Ronaldinho. You will then have two of the best midfielder's in the game.

Hint: Cheaper players:
This trick works in Manager mode when you are changing teams at the end of a season. At the end of the season when you are asked whether or not to renew certain players' contracts, choose not to renew the contracts of your favorite or best players (the ones you want on your new team). When you arrive at the new team and the transfer period starts, the players will be free agents, allowing you to transfer them without paying millions in fees and allowing you to re-negotiate the contract to fit your new team.

Hint: Easy win:
Play with the 3-4-3 combination. You will hardly lose any matches, even if you quicksim them.

Hint: Manager mode:
When starting a new Manager mode, select Arsenal. Remove some of the players that you think will not play in your lineup. You will always succeed. Always refresh the contract with a salary much lower than he gets. Do not to go too low or the deal between you and the player will fail.

Although these players stats are low in season one, their player growth goes up to 90+ and will be some of the best players in the world after three or four seasons.

LB: Gareth Bale (Southhampton)
RB: Micah Richards (Manchester City)
CB: Gerard (Pique )
CB: Juarez Valdez (Barcelona)
CAM: Giovanni Dos Santos (Barcelona)
ST: Theo Walcott (Arsenal)
ST: Sturridge (Manchester City)
In Manager mode, there is a very good player named Goeke who can be a very rare find. He is German and his overall is 99 from the third season. He also lasts the entire 15 years and stays at 99. If you get Theo Walcott and are lucky enough to have Goeke, you will have the two best strikers on the game who last to the end. However Walcott gets to 99 usually about Season 10. Although this is awhile to wait, he can still score from anywhere and is also quick.

The Lord of the Rings: The Battle for Middle Earth II

Published by EA, Inc.
Developed by EA Los Angels
Released 2006
Genre Strategy

Description :

The Lord of the Rings: The Battle for Middle Earth II
, the sequel to The Lord of the Rings: The Battle for Middle Earth, follows the lesser known story of the War of the North, which took place at the same time as the trilogy. EA makes use of Tolkein's other works, giving players with nearly all of the author's mythos.

In this game, the Good and Evil sides have been divided into races: you can now control Elves, Dwarves and Men of West (on the Good side) and Isengard, Mordor and the Goblins (on the Evil side) independently. Still of vital importance are the heroes. The game also allows you to make your own custom hero units - including role, appearance and powers. New to Battle for Middle Earth II are naval units and naval combat.

Cheats :

Hint: Ring Heroes:
Every map in skirmish or multi-player mode has Gollum cloaked on it. When you find Gollum, kill him and you will get the ring. Take it back to your fortress and have the troop that is carrying the ring enter the fortress in order to recruit a Ring Hero for 9,000 resources. Your Ring Hero uses no command points. Men, Elves and Dwarves can recruit Galadriel. Mordor, Isengard, and Goblins can recruit Sauron. The easiest way to get the ring is to let an enemy find Gollum then kill them after they obtain the ring. The only way to stop them before they reach their base is to chase them down with a mounted unit, have a created hero teleport into their path, or to summon allies into their path using a power.

Hint: Defeating large groups of enemies:
Have a lot of defensive structures in your base and teleport the opponents to your base. The towers should kill the enemies before they can do much damage. The Convert spell will also work, because they are free men.

Use the following trick to kill armies (including brutal) easily. This strategy works best with the elves. First, get as many Mirkwoods as possible. Have them guard your fortress and make sure they get Silverthorn Arrows. Then, get Glorfindel and Arwen and three to five groups of horses. Upgrade them fully and then send them around the back of the enemy base. Have them attack. This will work almost every time. Make sure that Glorfindel and Arwen are on their horses. It also helps to have Rally Call and Heal.

Hint: Grey Havens:
Start at the bottom-most part. Build as many resource collectors as possible. Then, capture the Shipright. Get Builders to build Wall Hubs where the Cave Trolls lair is found (kill it first). Build a wall. Then, build units and an upgrade structure. Get your units upgraded as much as possible. Put some by the wall to defend it. Send the rest to the Shipright. Build the number of transports needed. Put the units by the Shipright onto the transports. Send the transports to the enemy camp. Optionally, split your units up and surround the camp. Destroy all the structures except for the fortress. Finally, destroy the fortress.

Hint: The Shire:
The third level of the Evil campaign is a mission where you must capture the Shire. This mission is very easy up to a point. Play the mission until you must build a base in the Eastfarthing. Build a base with two of each building (including Fortresses). Also, build at least ten Sentry Towers. Upgrade your Fortress to the maximum and build all your Fortress expansions as Mountain Giants. Stay in your base and repel all Dunedain attacks until you have killed all them all. You will be notified when all Dunedain have perished. When you reach the part where you must destroy the three remaining Seats of Power, only send one Goblin horde to destroy them, as there is literally no resistance with the Dunedain defeated. Do not destroy the Seat of Power in the bottom-left corner of the mini-map. At this point, build a large army with at least 750 command points available. Buy all available upgrades for your Goblins. Send all your units to the large, grassy field at the bottom-left corner of the mini-map, just south of the last remaining Seat of Power. Destroy the last remaining Seat of Power with as little units as possible, then retreat a short distance to the north. You must do this because a volley of arrows will kill many goblins if you remain in that grassy field. After a few seconds, quickly return to the grassy field and a large army from Isengard will emerge, led by Grima Wormtoungue. Fight this army until only two Goblin hordes remain in your forces. Send these troops to your base, and build as many Goblin hordes as quickly as possible. In a very short time the army will attack your base. Do not try to defend any other buildings besides one Goblin cave and your Fortress. Uruk-Hai will lay waste to your forces in a short time, but your fully upgraded fortress should hold them back while you construct more Goblin hordes. After awhile of relentless Uruk-Hai attacks, the flow of enemies should stop. At this time, re-build your base and construct a large army. Lead this army into the Isengard base and kill Grima. This part of the level is very difficult, as the Ballista will quickly destroy your units. Destroying the Ballista first is recommended.

Hint: Postern Gates:
When building a wall around your base in Skirmish mode, never put in gates. Always put in Postern Gates. A Postern Gate is a small door in a wall that allows allies to pass through, but not enemies. It is invisible to the enemy, making passing through a wall virtually undetectable, and allies can pass through a Postern Gates as fast as they would pass through a regular gate.

Hint: General strategies:
Do not just rush your opponent's territory. Either send in a camo capable unit or a very cheap, weak unit such as Orc Warriers. Scope out your opponent's base before attacking with stronger units

When attacking, use melee soldiers so attack buildings and use Bowmen and Cavalry on enemy units.

Glitch: Hero power transfer:
Use the following trick to give a hero any power(s) desired, but it requires some time and a lot of patience. First, make a hero with no powers then a second hero with the power desired (for example, an elf hero with Healing). Then, stack them together on the playfield. Click on the hero with the single power. Go to the "Powers" menu. When you click "Customize", immediately press the quick switch key to your hero with no powers. When you enter the powers menu, the "hero" using the powers from the power menu will be the hero with no powers. Next, click on the blank unit portrait (the picture of power will not be there) where the desired power is located and re-select it. You can now make other heroes with the desired powers you want and put them on your new glitched hero. Note: You cannot "pull" multiple powers from the valid hero unit; you will still need to add them one by one to the glitched unit.

Glitch: Invincible Troll:
Kill a Troll while it is still coming out of the Troll Cage. It will be invincible. It will freeze where it is, and you will still be able to shoot at it. You can still gain power points from shooting it. Eventually, it will unfreeze and attack any enemies.

Glitch: Unlimited health for elves:
Create an elf hero with self-heal. You can get no recharge time on it. When you want to click on it, do so but immediately move to another location. It will not recharge. You can do this as many times as desired.

Glitch: Dol Guldur: Reveal entire map permanently:
First, you must have played the map in Skirmish mode to get the feel of it. Play it at least three times and memorize the locations. When you start the level in the Good campaign, you must have the Tom Bombadil power and Elrond's Farsight power. Use Elrond's power and eyeball the Dark Shroud to find the middle section of Dol Guldur (the part with the fortress in it). Note: You can see the texture of the terrain as you move the the Farsight power's pointer. Once you have successfully revealed the fortress area, summon Tom Bombadil just in front of the fortress. Once he is in, the shroud should disappear permanently with no fog of war. You can see exactly what the enemy is doing at the moment. You can use Bombard, Flood, Earthquake, or Sunlight, to attack enemy units and buildings, and when they are weakened, launch the assault with your army.

Lara Croft Tomb Raider: Legend

Published by Eidos Interactive Ltd.
Developed by Crystal Dynamics, Inc.
Released 2006
Genre Action

Description :

Legend is the seventh major game in the Tomb Raider series, now for the first time developed by crystal dynamics along with the original character designer of the game's protagonist Lara Croft: Toby Grad.

Heroine Lara is searching for a South American relic, but her adventure takes a different course when rogue anthropologist Amanda Evert shows up. Presumed dead along with a team of graduate students after an accident in a tomb in Peru, where Lara was the only one to escape, Amanda is back with a score to settle as they both race, along with the shady James Rutland Jr., to obtain an ancient artifact. Many other characters, both friends and foes, will stir things up. The story takes Lara through locations all over the world, from the Himalayas to Ghana, Kazakhstan, Bolivia, Japan and England, including her famous mansion filled with secrets and collectibles. Aside from current events, Lara's past is also revealed, through flashbacks. Among other things, you will get to know how she lost her mother and why it is such a burden.

The typical third-person action-adventuring exploring is still present. Lara can move more freely, and is no longer limited by specific jumps. As you travel through rough environments, you will need to run, dive, swim, climb on poles, ladders, roofs, use zip lines, shimmy and vault, with acrobatic actions such as somersaults and flips. You need to cross difficult terrain, solve puzzles to advance or open up new areas, and engage in combat. New tools include a grappling hook, not only used to move around but also to haul enemies scorpion style, binoculars, a PLS (personal light source), flares, a PDA and a headset to keep in contact with tech support Zip.

Enemies are still rather scarce. Both humans and animals will attack you, and the game retains the auto lock-on mode, but now with a slide attack and close combat with both kicks and punches, plus bullet-time actions to get behind enemies quickly. Lara carries her trademark dual-wielded pistols, but can also pick up new weapons along the way, such as a shotgun and grenades. Missions take place in both indoor and outdoor environments, with arcade motorcycle and jeep sequences in between. As usual, Lara has a fancy outfit for each location.

Trivia :
  • Tomb Raider: Legend has sold over 2.9 million copies.
  • Although the NEXT GEN mode for the PC version makes Lara and the environment look much better, it omits out a few effects seen in the normal mode. For example in the normal mode when Lara gets out of the water, you can see her wet and water dripping away from her skin. In NEXT GEN mode however, this effect is missing. Also in certain levels like Japan some of the Neon Lights are disabled in NEXT GEN mode.

Hint: Bolivia: Gold statue:
After using the stone seesaw to boost the iron cages up to the platform, open the gate the normal way. Then, move one of the cages on the side off its plate just enough to lower the door one notch. Quickly move the cage back. Climb over to the exit and scale the side of the doorway to get on top of the door. The gold reward is at the top.

Hint: Bolivia: Silver statue:
On the first rope in Bolivia, turn left to find the cave that has the silver reward.

Hint: Ghana: Gold statue:
At the end of the level, when you stand on button that opens the timed door, do not enter that door. Instead, go to the under the door to find a golden statue.

Hint: Peru: Play soccer:
At the beginning of the level, look to your right to see a soccer ball. You can shoot the ball around. Hit it past the dummy in between the fences and for a goal.

Hint: Japan: Alternate costume:
When you reach a room which has a hanging dragon in it, you will find a large red box. Throw it to the floor to break it. You will get a gold statue that gives you a new costume.

Hint: Defeating Amanda:
Use the following trick to defeat the final boss Amanda in Beast form. When fighting Amanda, do not go near to the edge, go near Amanda while she is fighting, or go into the center of the platform. The easiest way to die is to jump off the edge, so be careful. When you get Amanda's health down about halfway, the beast will fall to the ground and an image of Amanda will appear on the beast's body. Get in close as quickly as possible. Face Amanda, and press [Interact]. This brings the beast's damage threshold down. If you do not do it quickly enough, the beast will rise and heal to full. You must down the beast four times to win. The beast will start by using a random attack every few seconds. Every time you down the beast, the chance is increased that the it will perform another random attack immediately after the first. This means that when you have downed Amanda three times, she is likely to attack four times very quickly. The following is a list of her attacks.

Spreading attack: The beast will stick its arms into the ground. After a slight delay, slow, red projectiles will fan out. This can be easily avoided by jumping over them. Note: This attack is when the beast is most susceptible to damage.
Upwards blast: The beast's quickest attack, it will pound the ground with its arms and a burst of energy will appear beneath Lara. This is the best reason to keep moving.
Melee attack: A simple swipe. Stay away from the beast and it will not use this attack.
Homing attack: The most commonly used attack. The beast fires a pink homing smoke-like projectile which will explode on contact. This has area of effect. The more accurate the blast, the more damage Lara will take and the farther she will fly.
Shockwave: The most devastating attack. It does not do a lot of damage but can fling Lara halfway across the platform. Avoid it at all costs. It acts like the homing attack, but looks bluish. There is a distinct difference in appearance between the two projectiles.

Hint: Defeating the Unknown Entity in the Tesla room:
The goal is not to destroy the Entity, actually. The main objective is to remove the sword fragment for the machine directly above the Tesla turret. Ignore the Beast the entire time. First, pull the four levers around the room. They are on the outer wall and easily accessible. Then, hop into the Tesla turret. If you are knocked out of the turret, hop back in, healing as needed. Here, you must use the turret's "repel" function to launch the four lowered Tesla balls into the beams of energy. Do not use the "attract" function, as this will just slow you down. Once you have completed the entire circuit, wait for the electricity to die down then do it again. When you complete the circuit the second time, get out of the turret, switch to first person view, then use the grapple on the sword fragment and pull it out.

Detective Rank 1: Nitro Boost
Detective Rank 2: Side Wheelie

Hint: Taking out key suspects:
To disarm key suspects easier without killing them, raise your Detective level by solving street crimes to unlock the Taser pistol and Tranquilizer rifle (found in police station's basement armory). These work well for safely capturing key suspects without killing them accidentally, and is much easier than trying to get an aim on their arms or legs for a "neutralizing shot".

Hint: Neutralizing criminals:
To neutralize a criminal person that is running, take out your stun gun and use it until his or her health is gone. You can then arrest him or her.

Hint: Getting criminals to surrender:
Enemies are more likely to surrender if you fire a warning shot from a gun larger than theirs. You can then proceed to arrest them without starting a gunfight. Note: This does not always work.

Hint: Fighting styles:
If you are having trouble completing a fighting mission where you must fight thugs hand-to-hand, it is best to drive around to different Dojos when not on a mission to learn different fighting styles. Some styles are better used on some opponents than others. The best styles are Thai Boxing and Tae Kwon Do. They seem to be effective on a wider variety of opponents and can defeat more fighting styles than other ones. Also, do not overlook your default "Brawling" fighting moves as they can prove very effective against some of the fancier martial arts like Wushu. Switch between styles while in combat to find the best one for each situation. If you can score hits with combos of three or more moves on one opponent without them blocking any of your hits (or stunning them), then your style is better than theirs. Also, during the "fight club" mini-missions you can sometimes get a hint as to what styles your opponents are going to use by the little gestures and moves they make before the beginning of a match.

Hint: Defeating President Lincoln:
When fighting President Lincoln makes sure that you have bought the tranquilizer gun at the police armory when you have reached the second rank. Stand in the room with all the thugs. Shoot out the window and zoom in on Lincoln across the scaffold. Shoot him until he passes out. Then, interrogate him.

Hint: Sour Candy mission: Easy completion:
In the Palermo mission "Sour Candy", follow Candy up the climbing wall to the track. Instead of starting the race, go in the opposite direction. For the first two sets of hurdles, break the ones in the center lane by running into them. Then, break the last two sets of hurdles on the inside lane of the track. This will allow you to run in the race and not have to jump. Candy will be forced to jump over the hurdles slowing her down, so you can catch her more easily.

Hint: Faster shotgun reloading:
when using a shotgun, slow reloading can be a big problem. When you start to reload a shotgun and just stand there, it is very slow. Start running around to reload almost three times as fast.

Hint: Recommended vehicles:
The best vehicles to use at Detective Rank 2 is the 5.4L SC V8 coupe; and at Detective Rank 4 the 6.0L V8 coupe. If you use the 6.0L coupe, make sure to take it to a garage and get a street upgrade. Also, if you find one of the bullion vans driving around, hijack one. These will push any car out of the way, and in one hit you can sometimes put a car on black smoke. If you are stuck on the last driving arena mission (one lap around Central Park), just keep hitting her car in this truck to get her stuck for an easy win. The only problem with this vehicle is cornering. Do not be afraid to use this vehicle like a rhino.

Hint: Get cops to stop shooting you:
Sometimes, when you are in your street clothes and shoot at someone in front of a cop, the cop will start shooting at you. To get them to stop, simply turn towards them and flash your badge at them. They should then stop shooting at you.

Description :

World War II Combat: Iwo Jima
is a follow-up to World War II Combat:Road to Berlin , sporting the same gameplay mechanics and budget price tag of its predecessor.

The gameplay is basically just like any other first-person shooter out there, but you can't pick up any weapons or health during a mission -- instead, your health recharges at the end of each mission and your weapons are automatically assigned for each mission.

The main difference between Road to Berlin and Iwo Jima is that you're now pitted against the Japanese instead of the Germans, as the only surviving member of a squad of Marines during the American conquest of the Japanese island Iwo Jima.

World War II: Sniper -Call to Victory

Published by Groove Games
Developed by Jarhead Games, Inc.
Released 2004
Genre Action

Description :

The third title from Jarhead to place the player in the role of an American military sniper. This time, the player takes on the role of an Airborne soldier in 1944 as the Allies are beginning the liberation of Europe. The ten mission campaign takes place around three major engagements: Operation Market Garden, the battle of the Bulge, and the battle for the bridge at Remagen.

WWII Sniper uses the LithTech Jupiter engine and the same basic mechanics of the Marine Sniper games although the emphasis is more on action and less on stealth. There are a few rail style vehicle missions and the player usually operates without an A.I. sidekick (although some missions include protecting and providing cover fire for friendly soldiers). Most of the time, the weapon of choice for eliminating enemies is the Springfield M1903 Sniper Rifle but there are a few additional choices available for when things get hairy including Thompson submachine guns, grenades and bazookas.
