Call of Juarez

Published by Ubisoft Entertainment GmbH
Developed by Techland
Released 2006
Genre Action

Description :

Ray McCall was once a fearsome gunslinger. Twenty years ago, he decided to put his guns away and take up the bible instead, becoming a reverend in a town called Hope. All is good until one day, Ray's brother and wife are brutally murdered and their farm burned down to the ground. As Ray arrives at the crime scene, he sees a well-known Indian called Billy fleeing and becomes suspicious. Swearing vengeance for the death of his brother, Ray is unable to be calmed down by the townspeople. Bidding farewell to the life of a reverend, Ray once again takes out his guns and begins his hunt for his brother's killer.

In Call of Juarez, players take the role of Ray, who will shoot first and ask questions later. He uses different kinds of revolvers which are the only weapons in the game, with which Ray can enter the quick draw mode. In this mode, the two cross-hairs of the weapons slow move from the side of the screen to the middle much like a "bullet time" mode. Ray also access to the standard wild west equipment like the Winchester rifle or the sawed-off shotgun. Since Ray is a man of God, he can also read from the bible. This stuns the enemies for a short while.

Billy's weapons are instead stealth and his horsewhip. Since he's on the run and doesn't want to be found, he needs to avoid the people in his way or kill them silent. But if he needs to, he can handle a gun too.

On your quest, Ray will witness and take part in all typical wild west situations like a stagecoach-robbery or a duel. And like in Gun players can ride and fight on the back of a horse, anytime you like.

And if you've enough of Ray and Billy, there is online play against up to 31 other people in different modes. From deathmatch and team deathmatch to modes like "gold-fever" in which players pick up as much gold as they can find on the map.

Description :

While the first add-on Blood of Sahara played after Bet on Soldier: Blood Sport, Black-out Saigon takes place ten years before it. Prey

Published by Human Head Studios, Inc.
Released 2006
Genre Action

Description :

When Tommy, a garage mechanic, defends his girlfriend in a bar fight in a Native American reservation in Oklahoma, the entire bar, along with everyone inside, is sucked into a shuttlecraft. They are transported into The Sphere, an enormous, organic alien ship. Tommy is set free by one of the denizens and his task is to save his girlfriend Jen and grandfather Enisi, and find out what the meaning of The Sphere is.

This 3D-shooter, based on a modified version of the Doom 3 engine, takes place entirely inside the gigantic ship. As a combination of organic and cybernetic structures, gravity is defied: with the proper grids activated, you can walk on walls and ceilings. There are also multiple dimensions inside the ship you can cross using portals. During his quest, Tommy struggles with his Native American lineage. The ghost-like hawk Talon is always on your side and you sometimes cross over to another land to get help from your grandfather. Tommy can also shift to Spirit Walk, an alternate dimension in the game to get past obstacles and solve puzzles. When you die, you are also transported to another realm where you have to shoot lost souls with your spirit bow before being sent back. Your new health and spirit status will be based on your performance there.

The weapons Tommy uses are usually organic, with secondary fire functions. The arsenal includes a wrench, a rifle, crawlers, an acid sprayer, an auto cannon, a leech gun (chargeable with fire, ice, red orbs or lightning), a rocket launcher and the spirit bow. Certain parts of the game require you to explore large areas in a flying pod. You can use it to engage enemies or use the tractor beam to move objects. Navigation, often with a distinct lack of direction, is reminiscent of Descent then. Puzzles usually require you to decipher codes, activate switches and find entrances.

Game also uses OpenAL for sound.

Trivia :
  • The game depicts the Cherokee "Land of the Ancients" as being a stylized desert, reminiscent of Arizona. While this is likely intended to depict Oklahoma, it is incorrect. The Cherokee people are not, in fact, originally from Oklahoma. Originally, the Cherokee tribe resided in the general areas of North Carolina, Tennessee, etc. It was not until the Trail of Tears that the Cherokee people lived in Oklahoma.
  • The game is dedicated to the memory of William Scarboro, who died of an asthma attack on 9 August 2002. He was the game's original lead programmer in 1995, and devised the portal technology in the game's original incarnation.
  • In October 2006, the Triton digital distribution service used to activate the Windows version, was disabled, leaving the users in the cold. 3D Realms promised to look into it and soon after Triton announced that it would work on a patch to remove the dependency from the live system and allow you to backup / copy and play your games. A next step will be to make the game run without any of the Triton code.
  • There is a cool feature in Prey that people may not notice. If you have played the demo and uninstalled it but kept the save games, the retail version will recognize those saves, allowing you to resume the game at the latest save point you have. This way, you will not need to start the game all over again when you pick up your copy at the store.
  • At the time of the first confrontation with the possessed demon children you can hear toy music box melody playing in the background; It is the same exact melody that was playing in first Max Payne in the scene Max's family was murdered.
  • In one of the Art Bell radio chats, someone says "They've been preying on us since 1995!" This is a reference to Prey's development time, as 1995 was when development on the game was started.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl

Published by THQ, Inc.
Developed by GSC Game World
Released 2007
Genre Action, RPG

Description :

S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: The Shadow of Chernobyl is based on the famous science fiction novel Picnic on the Roadside (Piknik na obochine, 1977) by Russian writers Arkadi and Boris Strugatski. In the book aliens have visited the Earth and left behind mysterious Zones which are extremely hazardous but also extremely profitable because the physical changes inside the Zones have altered the items left inside the Zone. These potential profits draw all sorts of people to the Zones and the people who go scavenging are called stalkers. There is also a famous movie adaptation of the novel by Andrei Tarkovski, but the game actually is much closer in concept to the book although instead of having numerous Zones around the world, the game s focused around the Ukranian town of Chernobyl, the site of the most severe nuclear accident in history. The story goes that in 2006 another incident of some sort happened and by 2012 the whole area is hazardous with mutated animals, bandits, soldiers who don't ask questions before shooting, and first and foremost, mysterious anomalies. These anomalies differ in their effects but they all have one thing in common - they are quite deadly. There are areas where the gravity is much stronger, others where the air is crackling with electricity etc. And there is also the radiation to worry about.

The player is one of the stalkers who has lost his memory in an accident. All he knows is he has a note in his PDA telling him to kill someone. And so the player is thrown to a village located on the outskirts of the Zone trying to figure out who he is and what the secret of the Zone is.

The game plays as a FPS but with a 30 square kilometer playing area where the player is free to roam (assuming he can survive). There are also lots of NPC characters he can communicate with and in this sense the game playes more like an RPG, although there are no attributes or skills to improve. Along with the main quest the player can do sidequests and the way the player acts has an effect on other NPCs. Some of these quests have time limits, some don't. The player can also modify his weapons and armour and has to carefully manage his inventory because not only is there a carrying capacity his equipment degrades as they are used. The player can also use the items, called artifacts, altered by the anomalies to his benefit. They offer different kinds of bonuses, but also have side-effects. For instance, an artifact could improve your bullet resistance but also increase your radiation level.

The game features ragdoll physics, destructible surroundings, HDR lightning, dynamic weather, day/night cycles and multiplayer for up to 32 players.

Enter snork as a code to unlock the Dark Valley multi-player map and the French and German military multi-player skins.

Hint: Exoskeleton:
When you find you way into the sarcophagus, you will find a doorway that leads through a wire barrier and a hole in the wall with about ten people through the hole. Instead of going through that doorway, continue towards the light on the wall and turn right. There will be about two enemies there. Kill them and go through the door to their right. Just through that door to the left will be a ladder going to a door. Search the room at the bottom and you will find a chest with an Exoskeleton inside. It adds on radiation; bring some artifacts that counter radiation. It weighs 15, but gives you the ability to carry an extra 20. It has good protection from bullets but not much from anomalies.

Half-Life 2: Episode One

Published by Valve Corporation
Developed by Valve Corporation
Released 2006
Genre Action

Description :

Half-Life 2: Episode One continues the story of Half-Life 2. Beginning immediately after the end of Half-Life 2, Episode One follows Gordon Freeman (the player) and Alyx as they attempt to escape City 17 in the wake of the defeat of the Combine forces and the battle in the Citadel. The great unanswered question of "How could Alyx have survived that explosion" is answered, as are the fates of many of the other supporting characters from Half-Life 2.

Episode One is the first of what has been promised will be a three episode trilogy which, when completed, could be considered Half-Life 3. Since it follows the episodic format, it has only four to six hours of gameplay. One feature which extends overall game life, however, is the inclusion of a "Commentary" mode, which enables hotspots on each map where the player can listen to developer commentary explaining how or why certain things were done.

Players of Half-Life 2 will find the gameplay very familiar. No new weapons were added to Episode One, although all the weapons from Half-Life 2 have been carried over. Enemies, too are familiar, with only one new enemy, a new zombie variant. The most intriguing new gameplay element is the behavior of Alyx, who fights along Gordon's side for virtually the entire game. While the player still provides most of the offensive firepower, Alyx does provide a beneficial presence, and is far from the typical cannon fodder AIs too often found in FPS games.

F.E.A.R: First Encounter Assault Recon

Published by Vivendi Universal Studios
Developed by Monolith Productions, Inc.
Released 2005
Genre Action, Horror

Description :

F.E.A.R. is a horror FPS that resembles a cross between Doom3, Half-Life and the Ring horror movies. Demons are replaced by cloned soldiers and the element of horror revolves around an image of a spectral girl always appearing when least expected for a few fleeting moments.

The player sets out as a member of a specialized strike force dealing with unknown threats. Initially we start with mundane weapons, which are well presented, and progress gradually towards more sci-fi ones as the danger increases. The player can also call upon a "bullet-time" ability which slows down time around him and is realised with impressive visual and aural effects by the game engine.

All of the game takes part in a certain multibillion aerospace installation which has been hijacked by an elite team of cloned soldiers gone rogue and an unknown supernatural force (which is likely controlling or affecting them in some way). Both threats must be identified and countered.

Trivia :
  • In the sitcom, 'The IT Crowd', the character Moss is playing F.E.A.R on the computer.

  • During Interval 6, at a security checkpoint where you first encounter a particular enemy, look for a letter on the desk. The letter in question, is addressed to Monolith Productions, the developer of the game.

  • FEAR is possibly the most graphically-intensive commercial game (as of November 2005) yet. FEAR has replaced Doom 3 as a popular benchmarking tool for companies testing new graphics cards. If a card can run FEAR, it can run anything.
  • FEAR is heavily inspired by Japanese horror films like Ringu (The Ring) and Ju-on (The Grudge). For instance, the mysterious girl with long black hair is obviously channeling Samara from The Ring.

Hint: Saving Medkits:
Make a mark of some sort to lead you back on some Medkits that you could not carry before. If you so happen to run out of your own because of a big fight you can find them again. This is useful in Interval 11 with the armies of ghosts coming after you. Just make sure that you are able to backtrack to get the Medkits you left behind.

Use your Medkits at the correct time. Do not use Medkits immediately when you have about 70 to 80 health remaining. Try using a Medkit when your health drops below 30. One Medkit can heal up to about 30 to 45 points. If your health happens to drop below 40 and you are in a 1v1 or 2v1 fight, do not bother using a Medkit unless you really need to. Just run to cover while using your slow-mo abilities. Your health will regenerate slowly back to 40 if it drops below that, however you must be out of the firefight to regenerate your health.

Hint: Interval 04: Office Space reference:
While making your way through the large office building, look for papers hung on the wall or scattered on desks. Many of these papers have "TPS Report" written on them, as well as a symbol including three boxes at the top. This is a reference to the popular movie Office Space in which the characters are involved with TPS reports at their office, Initech, which has almost the same logo as the symbol at the top of the papers.

As you are making your way through the large office building, about midway through the level there should be a large room filled with cubicles, with multiple offices on the side. One of the cubicles in the middle of the room has a lot of boxes piled into it, with a red stapler on the desk. This is in reference to the character Milton in Office Space. Management is always making him move his desk and using his area for storage, as well as stealing his red Swingline stapler. This can be found in the same area as multiple T.P.S. reports.

Hint: Labdog: Shogo: Mobile Armor Division reference:
After the firefight in the gas pipes area near the exit point of the map, there will be a gas pipe on fire. Turn the object off in the next room, then return to the now extinguished pipe area..There is a semi secret walkway there. Walk in, find the ladder, and climb up. You will find a health booster, and there is a door on your left. Go into that office. Listen to the song. It is the main theme from Shogo: Mobile Armor Division. an anime FPS created by Mololith. Look at the dry marker board. It is the same one from an office level from Shogo: Mobile Armor Division.

Hint: Defeating Assassin Super Soldiers:
Because the assassins are difficult to see due to their camouflage and high speed running, try using slow-motion. You will notice them immediately once they are slowed. After that, let all of your rounds into them.

Glitch: Labdog: Bypass gate:
Towards the end of the Labdog level, the ATC guards will start closing the gates before you can get to them. Take out your particle weapon and hit the SlowMo just before you see the second gate. With a well-placed shot, you can take out both the guards before they are able to close the gate. Proceed past that area to the next room and use the laptop to avoid missing an important story plot. Return to the unclosed gate and carefully walk up to the black wall. You will be able to see down to the story below, and can step on the pipe to the left without losing health or dying. Doing this will prevent you from having to fight the three guards or deal with the proxy mines.

Lara Croft Tomb Raider: Legend

Published by Eidos Interactive Ltd.
Developed by Crystal Dynamics, Inc.
Released 2006
Genre Action

Description :

Legend is the seventh major game in the Tomb Raider series, now for the first time developed by crystal dynamics along with the original character designer of the game's protagonist Lara Croft: Toby Grad.

Heroine Lara is searching for a South American relic, but her adventure takes a different course when rogue anthropologist Amanda Evert shows up. Presumed dead along with a team of graduate students after an accident in a tomb in Peru, where Lara was the only one to escape, Amanda is back with a score to settle as they both race, along with the shady James Rutland Jr., to obtain an ancient artifact. Many other characters, both friends and foes, will stir things up. The story takes Lara through locations all over the world, from the Himalayas to Ghana, Kazakhstan, Bolivia, Japan and England, including her famous mansion filled with secrets and collectibles. Aside from current events, Lara's past is also revealed, through flashbacks. Among other things, you will get to know how she lost her mother and why it is such a burden.

The typical third-person action-adventuring exploring is still present. Lara can move more freely, and is no longer limited by specific jumps. As you travel through rough environments, you will need to run, dive, swim, climb on poles, ladders, roofs, use zip lines, shimmy and vault, with acrobatic actions such as somersaults and flips. You need to cross difficult terrain, solve puzzles to advance or open up new areas, and engage in combat. New tools include a grappling hook, not only used to move around but also to haul enemies scorpion style, binoculars, a PLS (personal light source), flares, a PDA and a headset to keep in contact with tech support Zip.

Enemies are still rather scarce. Both humans and animals will attack you, and the game retains the auto lock-on mode, but now with a slide attack and close combat with both kicks and punches, plus bullet-time actions to get behind enemies quickly. Lara carries her trademark dual-wielded pistols, but can also pick up new weapons along the way, such as a shotgun and grenades. Missions take place in both indoor and outdoor environments, with arcade motorcycle and jeep sequences in between. As usual, Lara has a fancy outfit for each location.

Trivia :
  • Tomb Raider: Legend has sold over 2.9 million copies.
  • Although the NEXT GEN mode for the PC version makes Lara and the environment look much better, it omits out a few effects seen in the normal mode. For example in the normal mode when Lara gets out of the water, you can see her wet and water dripping away from her skin. In NEXT GEN mode however, this effect is missing. Also in certain levels like Japan some of the Neon Lights are disabled in NEXT GEN mode.

Hint: Bolivia: Gold statue:
After using the stone seesaw to boost the iron cages up to the platform, open the gate the normal way. Then, move one of the cages on the side off its plate just enough to lower the door one notch. Quickly move the cage back. Climb over to the exit and scale the side of the doorway to get on top of the door. The gold reward is at the top.

Hint: Bolivia: Silver statue:
On the first rope in Bolivia, turn left to find the cave that has the silver reward.

Hint: Ghana: Gold statue:
At the end of the level, when you stand on button that opens the timed door, do not enter that door. Instead, go to the under the door to find a golden statue.

Hint: Peru: Play soccer:
At the beginning of the level, look to your right to see a soccer ball. You can shoot the ball around. Hit it past the dummy in between the fences and for a goal.

Hint: Japan: Alternate costume:
When you reach a room which has a hanging dragon in it, you will find a large red box. Throw it to the floor to break it. You will get a gold statue that gives you a new costume.

Hint: Defeating Amanda:
Use the following trick to defeat the final boss Amanda in Beast form. When fighting Amanda, do not go near to the edge, go near Amanda while she is fighting, or go into the center of the platform. The easiest way to die is to jump off the edge, so be careful. When you get Amanda's health down about halfway, the beast will fall to the ground and an image of Amanda will appear on the beast's body. Get in close as quickly as possible. Face Amanda, and press [Interact]. This brings the beast's damage threshold down. If you do not do it quickly enough, the beast will rise and heal to full. You must down the beast four times to win. The beast will start by using a random attack every few seconds. Every time you down the beast, the chance is increased that the it will perform another random attack immediately after the first. This means that when you have downed Amanda three times, she is likely to attack four times very quickly. The following is a list of her attacks.

Spreading attack: The beast will stick its arms into the ground. After a slight delay, slow, red projectiles will fan out. This can be easily avoided by jumping over them. Note: This attack is when the beast is most susceptible to damage.
Upwards blast: The beast's quickest attack, it will pound the ground with its arms and a burst of energy will appear beneath Lara. This is the best reason to keep moving.
Melee attack: A simple swipe. Stay away from the beast and it will not use this attack.
Homing attack: The most commonly used attack. The beast fires a pink homing smoke-like projectile which will explode on contact. This has area of effect. The more accurate the blast, the more damage Lara will take and the farther she will fly.
Shockwave: The most devastating attack. It does not do a lot of damage but can fling Lara halfway across the platform. Avoid it at all costs. It acts like the homing attack, but looks bluish. There is a distinct difference in appearance between the two projectiles.

Hint: Defeating the Unknown Entity in the Tesla room:
The goal is not to destroy the Entity, actually. The main objective is to remove the sword fragment for the machine directly above the Tesla turret. Ignore the Beast the entire time. First, pull the four levers around the room. They are on the outer wall and easily accessible. Then, hop into the Tesla turret. If you are knocked out of the turret, hop back in, healing as needed. Here, you must use the turret's "repel" function to launch the four lowered Tesla balls into the beams of energy. Do not use the "attract" function, as this will just slow you down. Once you have completed the entire circuit, wait for the electricity to die down then do it again. When you complete the circuit the second time, get out of the turret, switch to first person view, then use the grapple on the sword fragment and pull it out.

Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Double Agent

Published by Ubisoft Entertainment SA
Developed by Ubisoft Shanghai Studios
Released 2006
Genre Action, Strategy

Description :

In Sam Fisher's first next generation adventure, the splinter cell has a tragedy befall him. Shortly thereafter, Sam's life collapses around him. He becomes more distant from Third Echelon. In fact, he even goes so far as to get himself arrested.

But it's all part of the plan. Sam Fisher is now a double agent, working for both the NSA and a terrorist organization known as the JBA, or John Brown's Army. Sam is for the most part a good guy still. But will that remain? Will Sam do good for the NSA and bring the organization to justice, or will the lure of the terrorist group overpower and overcome Sam?

The choices you make affect that outcome. Moral questions will pop up in various places throughout the game. Do you shoot a prisoner to earn trust with the JBA, or do you hold off, keeping the NSA on your side? Whatever outcome you decide on, your trust with one will go down and the other will go up. This trust system is a new addition to Double Agent.

As you work your way through ten missions, your best friends are shadow and silence. You can go in guns blazing, but you won't get far. As a master spy, Sam will have to sneak around crates and walls, hide under vehicles and tables, sneak through highly guarded areas, and bypass electronic, fingerprint, voiceprint and retinal locked doors. You must interrogate or hack for keycodes and combinations, and you have the choice of knocking an enemy unconscious or killing them. When hanging by a rail, you can let an enemy guard walk by, or reach up, grab him and throw him to his death. Your best weapon is your mouth. Lure an enemy to your location by whistling, then sneak around him as he abandons his patrol to find the source of the noise. Your configurable weapon is really a backup.

Sam will go on many missions as a double agent. You'll be visiting the JBA headquarters in New York City, you'll travel to the Congo to rescue a soldier, you'll board a cruise ship in Cozumel wearing shorts in broad daylight with minimal cover, forcing you to change your stealth patterns. You'll wind up in the middle of a wartorn city, in the middle of a battle between guerrillas and the military, both of which want you dead. Your missions are varied, and all can be completed without firing a single bullet.

Multiplayer is similar to the past Splinter Cell games. You take on the role of either a spy or a mercenary; spies are played from the standard, third-person perspective, while mercs are played from the first-person perspective. Spies are tasked with stealing sensitive documents; mercs are tasked with killing the spies and protecting the documents. Each side has its own unique weapons and items. Spies do not have conventional weaponry, meaning nothing that can kill a merc, but they have several gadgets and devices to help them. Mercs are blessed with a high-powered rifle, grenades, and the ability to toggle various vision modes.

The PS3 version includes some additional content: a new female spy character (multiplayer), two new maps based on a new environment (multiplayer), a new set of co-op challenges and some refinements for the existing content.

Detective Rank 1: Nitro Boost

Hint: Taking out key suspects:
To disarm key suspects easier without killing them, raise your Detective level by solving street crimes to unlock the Taser pistol and Tranquilizer rifle (found in police station's basement armory). These work well for safely capturing key suspects without killing them accidentally, and is much easier than trying to get an aim on their arms or legs for a "neutralizing shot".

Hint: Neutralizing criminals:
To neutralize a criminal person that is running, take out your stun gun and use it until his or her health is gone. You can then arrest him or her.

Hint: Getting criminals to surrender:
Enemies are more likely to surrender if you fire a warning shot from a gun larger than theirs. You can then proceed to arrest them without starting a gunfight. Note: This does not always work.

Hint: Fighting styles:
If you are having trouble completing a fighting mission where you must fight thugs hand-to-hand, it is best to drive around to different Dojos when not on a mission to learn different fighting styles. Some styles are better used on some opponents than others. The best styles are Thai Boxing and Tae Kwon Do. They seem to be effective on a wider variety of opponents and can defeat more fighting styles than other ones. Also, do not overlook your default "Brawling" fighting moves as they can prove very effective against some of the fancier martial arts like Wushu. Switch between styles while in combat to find the best one for each situation. If you can score hits with combos of three or more moves on one opponent without them blocking any of your hits (or stunning them), then your style is better than theirs. Also, during the "fight club" mini-missions you can sometimes get a hint as to what styles your opponents are going to use by the little gestures and moves they make before the beginning of a match.

Hint: Defeating President Lincoln:
When fighting President Lincoln makes sure that you have bought the tranquilizer gun at the police armory when you have reached the second rank. Stand in the room with all the thugs. Shoot out the window and zoom in on Lincoln across the scaffold. Shoot him until he passes out. Then, interrogate him.

Hint: Sour Candy mission: Easy completion:
In the Palermo mission "Sour Candy", follow Candy up the climbing wall to the track. Instead of starting the race, go in the opposite direction. For the first two sets of hurdles, break the ones in the center lane by running into them. Then, break the last two sets of hurdles on the inside lane of the track. This will allow you to run in the race and not have to jump. Candy will be forced to jump over the hurdles slowing her down, so you can catch her more easily.

Hint: Faster shotgun reloading:
when using a shotgun, slow reloading can be a big problem. When you start to reload a shotgun and just stand there, it is very slow. Start running around to reload almost three times as fast.

Hint: Recommended vehicles:
The best vehicles to use at Detective Rank 2 is the 5.4L SC V8 coupe; and at Detective Rank 4 the 6.0L V8 coupe. If you use the 6.0L coupe, make sure to take it to a garage and get a street upgrade. Also, if you find one of the bullion vans driving around, hijack one. These will push any car out of the way, and in one hit you can sometimes put a car on black smoke. If you are stuck on the last driving arena mission (one lap around Central Park), just keep hitting her car in this truck to get her stuck for an easy win. The only problem with this vehicle is cornering. Do not be afraid to use this vehicle like a rhino.

Hint: Get cops to stop shooting you:
Sometimes, when you are in your street clothes and shoot at someone in front of a cop, the cop will start shooting at you. To get them to stop, simply turn towards them and flash your badge at them. They should then stop shooting at you.

World War II Combat: Iwo Jima

Description :

World War II Combat: Iwo Jima
is a follow-up to World War II Combat:Road to Berlin , sporting the same gameplay mechanics and budget price tag of its predecessor.

The gameplay is basically just like any other first-person shooter out there, but you can't pick up any weapons or health during a mission -- instead, your health recharges at the end of each mission and your weapons are automatically assigned for each mission.

The main difference between Road to Berlin and Iwo Jima is that you're now pitted against the Japanese instead of the Germans, as the only surviving member of a squad of Marines during the American conquest of the Japanese island Iwo Jima.

Hint: Level 1: Shortcut:
On the first level in Iwo Jima when you have to clear the beach, find the location where there is a sandbag bunker to the left side of the beach (not the concrete one). if you walk into it, where the right side forms a corner, you will walk right over it and save some frustration.
