Dark Messiah of Might & Magic

Published by Ubisoft Entertainment SA
Developed by Arkane Studios SA
Released 2006
Genre Action, RPG

Description :

A long time ago an extreme powerful mage called the Seventh Dragon banished all demons from the world and paid with his death for this. But the prophecies tell that after a 1000 years, a Dark Messiah - half human, half demon - will return to the earth to destroy the barrier that stands between the worlds. Now twenty years ago a Demon Lord successfully mates with Isabel Queen of the Griffin Empire and all attempts of the Emperor to exorcist her fail (you can play this mission in Heroes of Might and Magic V) and the Dark Messiah is born. Also he doesn't know it yet, his goal is to optain the Skull of the Seventh Dragon called Skull of Shadows from Skull Island, where it is guarded by the orcs and destroy the barrier between the worlds with it. The name of the Dark Messiah is Sareth and he's an mage apprentice. One day his master sends him to Stonehelm to help another mage retrieve the Skull. And so the Prophecy seems to become real. But it is yours to decide if you use the Skull, once you've optained it, for good or for evil since you are playing Sareth.

Dark Messiah of Might & Magic is a 1st-person action game set in the medieval age so instead of guns you use swords, bows and magic to defeat your enemies. As you progress through the story you obtain skill points which you can invest in one of three skill trees called Combat, Magic and Stealth. How you skill Sareth directly influences the combat in the game. You can either play like an assassin and backstab your enemies to oblivion or make him a perfect sword-fighter who can use different combos to take out his enemies for example.

But you can also use your environment to make your kills. There're countless items you can lift up and throw at your enemy or you can light up your arrow on a campfire nearby to inflict more damage. You can also make good use of your foot and kick your enemies off cliffs or kick them into spikes that come out of the wall or use other traps that are scattered in the levels like bringing a statue to a fall.

The main innovation in Dark Messiah is the so-called Body Awareness System. This basically means that Sareth is a real part of the world like every other NPC. This makes not only the whole combat more intense because your whole body moves with every sword-swing you make but the NPCs can interact more directly with you. For example a Orc can take you by your neck and throw you through the room.

If you've already saved (or damned) the world you can turn to the multiplayer-mode. There you've access to five different character classes from the knight to the priestess. With each kill you make you earn experience points and increase in rank. Then you get skill points you can invest in your skill tree to get new talents or upgrade existing ones. This is most important in the Conquest game-mode in which you play various maps in a row and keep your level between all the way. In the Conquest-mode two teams (Humans and Undead) fight over the possession of the flags on a map. Once one team holds all flags, it wins and the next map is loaded. But there's also normal (Team-)Deathmatch available.

Call of Juarez

Published by Ubisoft Entertainment GmbH
Developed by Techland
Released 2006
Genre Action

Description :

Ray McCall was once a fearsome gunslinger. Twenty years ago, he decided to put his guns away and take up the bible instead, becoming a reverend in a town called Hope. All is good until one day, Ray's brother and wife are brutally murdered and their farm burned down to the ground. As Ray arrives at the crime scene, he sees a well-known Indian called Billy fleeing and becomes suspicious. Swearing vengeance for the death of his brother, Ray is unable to be calmed down by the townspeople. Bidding farewell to the life of a reverend, Ray once again takes out his guns and begins his hunt for his brother's killer.

In Call of Juarez, players take the role of Ray, who will shoot first and ask questions later. He uses different kinds of revolvers which are the only weapons in the game, with which Ray can enter the quick draw mode. In this mode, the two cross-hairs of the weapons slow move from the side of the screen to the middle much like a "bullet time" mode. Ray also access to the standard wild west equipment like the Winchester rifle or the sawed-off shotgun. Since Ray is a man of God, he can also read from the bible. This stuns the enemies for a short while.

Billy's weapons are instead stealth and his horsewhip. Since he's on the run and doesn't want to be found, he needs to avoid the people in his way or kill them silent. But if he needs to, he can handle a gun too.

On your quest, Ray will witness and take part in all typical wild west situations like a stagecoach-robbery or a duel. And like in Gun players can ride and fight on the back of a horse, anytime you like.

And if you've enough of Ray and Billy, there is online play against up to 31 other people in different modes. From deathmatch and team deathmatch to modes like "gold-fever" in which players pick up as much gold as they can find on the map.

In order to find these weapons, you must search the train cars as you pass them by. If you look carefully, you will find them. There is a chest hidden behind a stack of boxes on one of these cars. If you jump over the stack and open the chest, you will see the two long beautiful pistols underneath you. Pick them up and shoot up all the cattle rustlers and hombres as desired.

Blazing Angels: Squadrons of WWII

Published by Ubisoft Entertainment Software
Developed by Ubisoft Romania
Released 2006
Genre Action

Description :

Blazing Angels is an air combat arcade game putting the player at the command of a fighter squadron in the Second World War. It's a pick-up-and-play type of game, with easy-to-grasp controls and an almost non existent learning curve.

The action covers the most important moments of the WWII, from the Battle for England to the bombing raids over Berlin, but also warps a bit the history to make for some entertaining if fictitious moments (i.e. you get to fly over Normandy on D-Day, save the day at Pearl Harbor, etc). The gameplay is quite varied, with about 18 flyable planes during the SP campaign (fighters, recon planes, dive, torpedo and level bombers) and diverse tasks and locations that prevent the game from being overly repetitive, despite a general dogfighting approach. The basic squadron command system and the specific abilities of the wingmen lend a bit of a tactical flavor to the game.

There are a dozen multiplayer game modes available: solo (Dogfight, Seek and Destroy & Aces High), co-op (Dogfight, Onslaught, Bombing Run, Kamikaze and Historical Missions) and squad-based (Dogfight, Capture the Base, Bombing Run and Kamikaze).

Trivia :
  • The game was originally meant to be 2D and based on the Heroes of Might and Magic IV engine, but The 3DO Company went bankrupt along with the development division New World Computing, Inc., and the license was acquired by Ubisoft. They let Nival, Inc. handle the development and used a 3D engine right away.

  • Prior to the release, scheduled for 3rd April 2006, there was an open beta. The overall quality was perceived poor, and major fan sites decided to launch the "Save Heroes" movement at saveheroes.org (now also wesavedheroes.org) to persuade Ubisoft with a petition to push back the release to fix all the major bugs first.

A news entry by GameSpot, however, revealed that the game had already been delayed before the beta test even started. This is what the movement wanted, but as it had happened silently, they signed a "News Suppression Pact" to not post about the game anymore until Ubisoft would publicly announce the delay.

The postponement was eventually announced, but afterwards it was suggested, yet unproven, that the delay and the Save Heroes movement was an orchestrated Ubisoft PR tactic to draw attention to the game.

Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Double Agent

Published by Ubisoft Entertainment SA
Developed by Ubisoft Shanghai Studios
Released 2006
Genre Action, Strategy

Description :

In Sam Fisher's first next generation adventure, the splinter cell has a tragedy befall him. Shortly thereafter, Sam's life collapses around him. He becomes more distant from Third Echelon. In fact, he even goes so far as to get himself arrested.

But it's all part of the plan. Sam Fisher is now a double agent, working for both the NSA and a terrorist organization known as the JBA, or John Brown's Army. Sam is for the most part a good guy still. But will that remain? Will Sam do good for the NSA and bring the organization to justice, or will the lure of the terrorist group overpower and overcome Sam?

The choices you make affect that outcome. Moral questions will pop up in various places throughout the game. Do you shoot a prisoner to earn trust with the JBA, or do you hold off, keeping the NSA on your side? Whatever outcome you decide on, your trust with one will go down and the other will go up. This trust system is a new addition to Double Agent.

As you work your way through ten missions, your best friends are shadow and silence. You can go in guns blazing, but you won't get far. As a master spy, Sam will have to sneak around crates and walls, hide under vehicles and tables, sneak through highly guarded areas, and bypass electronic, fingerprint, voiceprint and retinal locked doors. You must interrogate or hack for keycodes and combinations, and you have the choice of knocking an enemy unconscious or killing them. When hanging by a rail, you can let an enemy guard walk by, or reach up, grab him and throw him to his death. Your best weapon is your mouth. Lure an enemy to your location by whistling, then sneak around him as he abandons his patrol to find the source of the noise. Your configurable weapon is really a backup.

Sam will go on many missions as a double agent. You'll be visiting the JBA headquarters in New York City, you'll travel to the Congo to rescue a soldier, you'll board a cruise ship in Cozumel wearing shorts in broad daylight with minimal cover, forcing you to change your stealth patterns. You'll wind up in the middle of a wartorn city, in the middle of a battle between guerrillas and the military, both of which want you dead. Your missions are varied, and all can be completed without firing a single bullet.

Multiplayer is similar to the past Splinter Cell games. You take on the role of either a spy or a mercenary; spies are played from the standard, third-person perspective, while mercs are played from the first-person perspective. Spies are tasked with stealing sensitive documents; mercs are tasked with killing the spies and protecting the documents. Each side has its own unique weapons and items. Spies do not have conventional weaponry, meaning nothing that can kill a merc, but they have several gadgets and devices to help them. Mercs are blessed with a high-powered rifle, grenades, and the ability to toggle various vision modes.

The PS3 version includes some additional content: a new female spy character (multiplayer), two new maps based on a new environment (multiplayer), a new set of co-op challenges and some refinements for the existing content.

Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon : Advanced Warfighter

Published by Ubi Soft Entertainment Software
Developed by GRIN
Released 2006
Genre Action

Description :

The year is 2013 and you play as Captain Mitchell, commander of a Ghost Recon team, on a mission in Mexico City where rebels are attempting a coup, putting Mexico and the USA in danger.

To deal with the different situations you have to face, taking out AA-guns or defending injured personnel until the rescue team arrives, you do not only have access to top-notch weapons like the different versions of the MR-C, but also to futuristic equipment like a drone that flies over the battlefield to spot enemy units.

The PC version was developed almost independently from the Xbox 360 version, so there are notable differences between the two. The most important changes can be found in the Cross-com design. It is split into 3 parts: the support list, the video feedback and the order system. The support list is always displayed on your HUD and allows you to see all units at your disposal at all time. Through the order system, you can give them commands on the fly. The video feedback section allows you to see through the eyes of one of your team members, but unlike the Xbox 360 version, you only see rough shapes of the environment. To see it in its full glory, you have to link yourself completely into the video feed, which then obstructs your own view.

The tactical map allows you to see a satellite feed of the mission area and provides micromanagement for your team by setting waypoints for each team member and deciding when to execute them. You can also spot enemies early when they are on open ground, to better plan your attack route.

Before each mission, you can equip your squad with different weapons. There is room for multiple weapons, but each member has a maximum weight he can carry and it also influences how fast you become fatigued when sprinting. Your weaponry can be modified with silencers, front grips, red dot sights or grenade launchers. Additional ammunition can also be carried along. During fights, you can collect ammo of dead opponents, but not the weapons themselves.

When you are tired of your teammates' AI, you can play through the entire game in the co-op mode for up to 4 players (missing players are replaced by bots) or play against up to 32 players (16 more than the Xbox 360 version) in the Domination mode where two teams of Ghosts fight over the control of different zones, scattered over the map and connected by supply lines.

Cheats :

Warfighter difficulty:
Successfully complete the game to unlock the Warfighter difficulty setting.

Hint: Extra ammunition:
If you are running low on ammunition, anytime you see a firearm laying on the ground walk over top of it. You will pick up the clip. The other Ghosts will also do this automatically if they walk over a firearm that is the same as what they are equipped with.

Hint: Restore health:
If you are not doing too well and have been hit a few times, press [Esc] to go the main menu and reload from the most recent save point. You will resume with a full health gauge.

  • It may seem strange to PS2 owners that second add-on to Ghost Recon, yes this very Island Thunder was released for Xbox and PC, yet not for PS2. Well, it may be hard to notice, but the third add-on, Jungle Storm, which is PS2 exclusive contains both Jungle Storm and Island Thunder full scenarios. There is very little of it said on the box cover as it looks like Jungle Storm only, but once you start the game you see Jungle Storm is the main game, but Island Thunder that was amiss for PS2 players is full contained as an alternate scenario to be played.

Using hero or specialist kits for others:
This application is used for using hero or specialists kits for your ordinary riflemen, demo, support or snipers. Note: This procedure involves editing a game file; create a backup copy of the file before proceeding. Go into your game directory, and open the "\red storm entertainment\ghost recon\mods\origmiss\kits\hero\" folder. There you will find a file corresponding to each hero. For example. "henry_ramirez". Open his or her file, copy all the *.kit files and paste them into "\red storm entertainment\ghost recon\mods\origmiss\kits\rifleman" (or "demolitions", "heavy-weapons", "sniper", or whichever class you want to add the kit to. Now even your ordinary riflemen can use the OICW, or even a sniper rifle.

Use multi-player weapons in single player mode:
Note: This procedure involves editing a game file; create a backup copy of the file before proceeding. Go into your game directory, and open the "\red storm entertainment\ghost recon\mods\mp1\" "\red storm entertainment\ghost recon\mods\mp2\" folder. Open the "kits" file, then the "multiplayer" file. There you will find the extra kits that you would normally find only in multi-player mode. Copy those kits into your "\red storm entertainment\ghost recon\mods\origmiss\kits\rifleman (or demolitions, etc.).

Hint: Boost stats:
Start a private game in cooperative mode. Play the game on the elite difficulty setting with unlimited respawns and grenades. You will get a win and 45 kills easily.

Hint: Recommended weapons:
The best series of weapon combinations to use for online play are the SA80/M136 (Anti-Tank 4) and OICW/20mm Grenade Launcher. It is not recommended that you become a sniper for online play. Many of the players that play online rush other players when each game begins, and a sniper does not have the time to find an area for spotting. Typically, the game will not last long enough for you to be a sniper and many players do not like to wait for another player to find a sniper.

Hint: Threat Indicator:
If you are able to effectively use your Threat Indicator (radar), you will be able to know where an enemy opponent is, and which direction he or she may be moving. There are two colors, yellow and red. The red circle in the middle of the Threat Indicator indicates that the enemy is 15 meters from your current position. On the outer most ring of the Threat Indicator, you will see flashes of red when opponents shoot in your direction. The yellow is a 90° viewing angle of where your enemies are. If you have a 90° angle, naturally you have four quarters to work with. When you look left and right, notice that the yellow will transfer to another quarter of the circle. The best way to find your opponent's location is to look left until the yellow changes. At the exact point that it changes, stop. Your opponent is exactly in the direction that is on the far right of your screen. The same applies to looking right and at the same point that the yellow changes to a different quarter your opponent is at the very left of your screen.

Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones

Published by Ubisoft Entertainment SA
Developed by Ubisoft Montreal Studios
Released 2005
Genre Action,Adventure

Description :

After many dangerous adventures, the Prince finally makes his way home to Babylon, bringing with him his new bride Kaileena, the Empress of Time. Their hopes for a peaceful and happy future together are dashed, however, when they arrive in Persia to find the land ravaged by war. Kaileena is promptly captured and murdered by the evil Vizier, and her death unleashes the Sands of Time, from which the Vizier derives terrifying new powers.

Once again the Prince of Persia must stand to fight, but this time he will be stronger than ever, thanks to his new alter ego the Dark Prince, borne of the Prince's contact with the Sands. As he fights to reclaim his kingdom from the hands of a madman, he must also battle with his own inner demons as the Dark Prince threatens to consume him entirely.

The game is very similar (in terms of fight and puzzle sequences) to the previous installments of UbiSoft's Prince of Persia trilogy: The Sands of Time and Warrior Within. There are some major innovations like the character of Dark Prince, who possess the main protagonist from time to time and offers him new combos and moves. There is also new ability, called "Speed Kill", which is very effective against all opponents in the game (victims are attacked from behind and murdered in brutally fashion).

In Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones player will explore not only the streets of Babylon, but also a ruined palace of his father, temple and the famous Hanging Gardens.

Trivia :
  • Unlike the other platforms, the Wii version has an ESRB Teen rating because the bloody sequences have been toned down. Enemies bleed sand instead of blood.

Hint: Defeating the Canal Monster:
Treat this like a thrall from Prince Of Persia: Warrior Within. Begin by slashing at its legs and climb on top of it. Once you are on top, you can control him. Guide it so that it smashes into the doors. Eventually he will tire out near the end of the canal and the level will be over.

Hint: Defeating the Twin Warriors Boss:
Immediately after the room in which you must move the statue of your father down the hall, you will have your second chariot race. At the end of the race you will run into the sand enemy that you saw in the earlier intermission sequence. His brother will come with his sword and surround you in a ring of fire. Run towards the one with the sword and slash at him with your dagger. He will block it, and after a little bit his brother will slam his axe into the ground. Roll to the side to dodge it, and his axe will become stuck in the ground. Vault over him while his brother with the sword tries to slash at you. If done correctly, you will trigger a speed kill scene where you slash them both down to half health. You must try to repeat this process. When the brother with the axe jumps towards you, roll to the side and get away from him. Only go for the one with the sword. If you fail a speed kill you will be knocked to the ground and will lose a lot of health. If you find yourself on the ground, do not try to attack coming up; just roll away to the side.

Hint: Unlimited sand:
A good number of the secondary weapons have special powers. Some, like the Illusions Dagger, are instant kills if thrown and not blocked. Some will knock an opponent down with one hit, like the axes you get from the weapons racks. However, the most important secondary weapon is the Sand Gate Guard's Sword. At every Sand Gate there is one guard with red armor, who has sand flying to him from the Sand Gate. He is the only guard that can call for reinforcements. If you kill him you only have to deal with his friends.
Note: All the Sand Gates can be done with Speed Kills so that there is no need to fight anyone, but this is difficult. The red Sand Gate Guard drops his sword after you kill him. This sword's power is to regenerate one Sand Tank about every 1.5 seconds. Therefore, as long as you are carrying this sword, you will have virtually unlimited sand, unless you either throw it away or become the Dark Prince. Because you can regain this sword at any Sand Gate, it is much like having infinite sand. However, because this sword has a rather low number of hit points, if you want to keep its power do not use it in a fight; just use the dagger and your Sand Powers.

Sand Gate rewards:
Deactivate the indicated number of Sand Gates to earn the corresponding reward.

Fourth Sand Tank: 1 Sand Gate
100 Sand Credits: 2 Sand Gates
Eye of the Storm Time Power: 3 Sand Gates
Fifth Sand Tank: 4 Sand Gates

Winds Of Sand Attack: 6 Sand Gates

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time

Published by Ubisoft Entertainment SA
Developed by Ubisoft Montreal Studios
Released 2003
Genre Action,Adventure

Description :

The story in this Prince of Persia game starts out as the Prince and his father, the King of Persia, are besieging the Maharajah's castle to plunder the treasures hidden inside. In order to impress his father, the Prince sneaks inside to recover the magical Dagger of Time. He quickly learns that this dagger has the ability to control time. The malevolent Vizier has other plans for the dagger, however, and tricks the Prince into unlocking a mysterious secret of the Dagger that causes the King and many of his subjects to be turned into sand zombies. Now, the Prince must figure out what has happened and try to set things right again.

The Sands of Time is a action adventure game that updates many of the gameplay concepts from the original two games and brings them into a fully 3-dimensional world. The Prince will engage in sword fighting, wall climbing, spike dodging, puzzle solving, and more in his quest. The Prince also carries the Dagger of Time, which allows him to unleash several magical powers. The most important of these powers is the ability to reverse time. This ability allows the player to reverse their actions when they lead the Prince to his death.

Trivia :

On the opening level, just after the room in which you first see the sands of time / giant hourglass, you find a water-filled passage that has 6 murals on the walls. The contents of the murals seem to describe the legendary history of the sands of time :

1) A blue god and winged goddess cradle the earth

2) A red demon kills the blue god as he sleeps

3) The red demon stalks the earth, eating humans

4) The blue god returns from the dead and strikes down the red demon with lightning

5) The blue god collects the sand from the red demon and pours it into an hourglass

6) The blue demon grow four arms - 2 sport the hourglass - 2 carry a sword and the severed head of the red demon. Humans worship at his feet.

POP:SOT uses a modified version of Beyond Good and Evil game engine.

Several times the main characters mention the "legendary" Rustam in comparison to what the Prince is able to do. Rustam was a Persian hero noted for his great strength. Born with prematurely gray hair, Rustam slew a rampaging white elephant with a single blow at the age of ten.

The Internet marketing for Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time was Ubisoft's most successful campaign so far. Ad agency Digital Outlook targeted 15-24-year-old males with ads featuring characters from the game and its "acrobatic action gameplay". A DHTML overlay showing the Prince slicing through the computer screen with his sword had a click-through rate of 26.1%. A streaming video ad, showing the gameplay, had a click-through rate of 23.43%. These rates were 4x higher than the host site's average.

Cheats :

Hint: A Prisoner Seeking An Escape: Hangman:
When you reach the bottom of the chamber in the A Prisoner Seeking An Escape level, kill all the sand creatures and then enter the cell to the left when looking at the save point. In the left corner of the cell is a little joke on the wall. Take a closer look in first person view at the drawings you find there. Obviously the prisoners where playing hangman here.

Hint: A Soldiers Mess-Hall: Kill all:
When you enter this level, there will be a short intermission sequence showing you the area. When this is completed, do not draw your sword. Instead, run to the edge of the stairs and jump off. Walk into the middle and wait for all of the enemies to appear. Use the Mega-Freeze to attack the current enemies. This will also work for the enemies that respawn, if done correctly.

Hint: Courtyard: Magic Fountain:
After completing the trap corridor where you had to race to the slowly closing door, you will battle some Sand Monsters in the courtyard. After this has been successfully done, climb up the courtyard. When you are in the section where you have to climb up the ladder which appears above the spikes, continue until you find a Sand Cloud. Near the sand cloud is a hole in the wall. Climb up the rubble and run among the wall to grab on the ledge. Go through the hole to find yourself in a mystery area. Keep walking on the bridges until you reach a fountain. Drinking from this fountain will raise your life bar.

Hint: Daybreak: Avoid battles:
When the Prince and Farah attempt to cross the drawbridge you have lowered, many sand creatures will appear to battle you. Just run past them on the left and into the open doorway with the switch inside. They will not follow, and you will not have to fight them.

Hint: Defeating sand monsters:
Do a vault on any sand monster (or rebound over their head). Press [Retrieve] then [Attack] to destroy it.

Hint: Defeating birds:
To defeat the birds on ground, defend. Immediately after the bird attacks, attack yourself and it should hit them.

Hint: Defeating the soldiers at the mess hall:
Kill all of the first eight soldiers. Take their Sands except for the last one. Leave him on the floor. While he is down, run to the fountain and drink to get your health up. He will come back to life. Kill him again and drink more water before taking his Sand. Do this until you have full health, then take his Sand. You should now have enough health do defeat the next seven soldiers without dying.

Hint: Angry Farah:
Any time you are alone with Farah, take out your sword and hit her once (you might kill her). She should yell at you and shoot you with her bow.

Hint: Retrieving sand in-combat:
Vault over an enemy or rebound over their heads. Then, as you are over them, click [Attack] then immediately press [Retrieve]. This will slash the creature and immediately afterwards retrieve its sand while it is stunned. Note: This works best on the creatures that cannot block a vault-attack.

Prince of Persia: Warrior Within

Published by Ubisoft Entertainment SA
Developed by Ubisoft Montreal Studios
Released 2004
Genre Action,Adventure

Description :

Prince of Persia: Warrior Within is the direct sequel to Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. The game comes with a new, darker look for the Prince and his surroundings. The fights are more brutal and take a larger part in the game, has the Prince now has enhanced fighting moves including new attack moves via walls and poles.

Even though the fights make up a large part of the game, the puzzle sections are still present and more complicated than before. A new move in the puzzle sections of the game is the curtain slide, which allows you to slide down to the ground slowly. There are still plenty of options for time manipulation and the storyline also lets you travel back and forth in time, visiting the same locations in an alternate time period.

Min.OS Win98SE
Min.RAM 256MB
Min.DirectX 9.0C

Trivia :
  • In the December 2005 issue of Wired Magazine, Jordan Mechnar was not happy with the direction of Warrior Within. He said "I'm not a fan of the artistic direction, or the violence that earned it an M rating. The story, character, dialog, voice acting, and visual style were not to my taste." However, he was quite happy when the direction taken by The Two Thrones.
  • Other than owning the rights for this game, Jordan Mechnar was not involved with Warrior Within's development. At the time of the game development, he was preparing a screenplay for Prince of Persia The Movie which will be produced by Jerry Bruckheimer(producer of Bad Boys, The Rock, Pearl Harbor, King Arthur).
Cheats :

Alternate ending:
Complete the game with all nine Life Upgrades.

Illustration Gallery:
Successfully complete the game to unlock the Illustration Gallery.

Hint: Defeating the first Boss:
Block and do the attack were you jump behind her, and attack her twice. Remember to block immediately after this or she will hit you down.

While fighting the first Boss after you become the Sandwraith, use slow time to easily kill it. It will rarely get a hit on you, and your Sand Tank will regenerate during this time. Whenever it runs out, immediately start slow time again. Remember to stay behind it or its attack will knock you off the platform.

Hint: Defeating the Crow mini-Boss:
Use the following trick to defeat the mini-Boss that is formed from the evil crow enemies encountered in the beginning of the game after the ship level. Jump over him and slash him in the air repeatedly. By doing this, he cannot hit you. You must wait a few seconds between attacks. Also, in the last two stages, you will be on platforms; be careful that you do not fall off.

Hint: Defeating The Dahaka:
You must have all nine Life Upgrades to gain the final sword, The Water Sword, to fight The Dahaka and receive the alternate ending. Before you enter the Central Chamber the second time, make sure you go to the pedestal in the middle of the hourglass room to receive the Water Sword. Enter the Central Chamber to trigger the intermission sequence. Then, chase the empress to trigger the alternate Boss fight with The Dahaka. This can be a very tricky Boss (especially under the hard difficulty setting), and he may seem very cheap at first. Immediately when the fight starts, trigger the Ravages Of Time attack against the beast. Do this twice, then run around and refill your Sand Tanks. The Dahaka will try to shoot his tendrils up through the ground in front of you. The best tactic to avoid them is to run around in a circle -- they will not touch you. After your Sand Tanks are filled, go back towards him. When you get close to him, he will shoot tendrils out of his stomach at you. Roll under them then activate Slow Time and hit him until his health is about half way down. An intermission sequence will start, and the beast will be hanging on the side of the cliff. Run over to him and use Ravages Of Time as much as possible. When his health gets too low, he will jump up into the center of the stage and regain half of his health. This is when he becomes angry and things get tricky. He will try to jump on you multiple times. Run around the stage collecting the sands, rolling out of the way when he jumps towards you. If he misses you, he will try to shoot his tendrils at you; just run or roll away from him. Eventually he will go back to shooting tendrils out of the ground. When your sands are full, run towards him and use the same tactic as before. When your down to a couple of Sand Tanks, fill up again. The strategy is to get his health as low as possible before he gets knocked to the side of the cliff, then use either Slow Time or Ravages to kill him off before he jumps back up again.

Get the Light Sword. Ensure that you do not throw the Light Sword. Hang onto it until the Dahaka fight. Beat on him as instructed above, but when he hangs on the ledge for the first time, slow time and hit him with the Light Sword (not the Water Sword). He should die before he is able to jump back up. If not, you will defeat him the second time.

Slow down time and attack until he falls off the edge. When he does, slow time again and attack until his life is gone. If you need more sand, there is some scattered around the platform.

Hint: Defeating the Golem Boss:
To defeat the harder Golem Boss that throws exploding monsters at you, have at least five Sand Tanks full. Activate Ravage Of Time and hit him behind his legs (which has no armor). Then, jump on his back and onto his head. Immediately activate Ravage Of Time again so you can hit his head faster. When it wears off, activate Eye Of The Storm, then keep hitting him. You should then finish him off.

Hint: Defeating Shadi:
This is an easy but precise way to defeat Shadi. Attack her until you hear a large "clank", which indicates that she has blocked. Then, roll to the side of her. When this is done, most of the time you will be able to get behind her and repeat the attack. You should get to hit her about four times (and possibly up to six times) before she blocks. However, sometimes you may only hit her about two times before she blocks. You must listen for the "clank".

Hint: Glowing sword:
Go to the Mystic Caves with a sword that can break walls. Pass the first gate that unloced to find a passage divided by a pit with a switch on the floor. Jump into the pit and get through the breakable section of wall at one end. Break the weapon rack that is behind it to get the glowing sword. This secondary weapon does a large amount of damage, but with every use will also increase damage given to the Prince.

Hint: Pink flamingo:
After getting a sword that can break walls, get to the Garden Hall (Present). Begin at the middle passageway at the very top of the hall. Wall run to the rope, then wall run to the central platform. Turn to the left and walk through the rubble that should be in front of you. Turn around and hold onto the platform you were just standing on. Then, jump across the gap to the next platform. To your left is another platform with a switch. Once there, use the switch then go back to the platform you were just on. Climb on the block that is now here, then do a vertical wall run and jump to get to the beam above. Walk along the beam to the right then jump to the ledge on the far wall. Follow the ledge until you find an alcove. Drop down into the alcove and use your sword to break the rear wall on the right side. The pink flamingo weapon is hidden in the weapon rack. One hit from it can knock anything except Bosses to the ground.

Hint: Rayman's glove:
Get to the main tomb in the Catacombs. Exit this area to begin a Dahaka chase. Notice that the passageway branches during the second and third Dahaka chase. Turn left here and find the weapon rack immediately to your left. Break the weapon rack to collect Rayman's glove. One hit from it can knock anything except Bosses to the ground.

Hint: Teddy bear:
One of the miscellaneous secondary weapons is the teddy bear. Locate it after earning the Scorpion Sword in the clock (west) tower. There are three encounters with a giant golem enemy in the clock tower when you initially go through it. The first is before you start negotiating the vertical climbing of the tower (past); the second is atop the clock tower (past); and the third is stationary and throws exploding monsters in the clock tower's second area (past). Look for the room where the second giant golem enemy is found. You need to be in the present (find a time portal) and drop into the water-filled dead end past the golem's room. Break the wall and retrieve the teddy bear. The teddy bear is almost unbreakable and does almost no damage, but has the ability to restore lost life to the Prince with each successful blow on an enemy.

Hint: Play as Sandwraith:
When you reach the portal room for the second time, when you have to switch the time to the present for the first time, the Prince will say that something is wrong. You must run the switches on the wall to make the portal work correctly. Do not run the switches on the wall. Instead, enter the portal as it is and you will switch the time to the present. Save the game, then exit and load the game. You will now be playing as the maggot man. In this mode you will constantly lose life and much more health when hit than in normal mode. However your attacks will be very powerful and you are much more quicker.
Note: Save the game on a different file if you wish to continue the game as the Prince.
