Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Double Agent

Published by Ubisoft Entertainment SA
Developed by Ubisoft Shanghai Studios
Released 2006
Genre Action, Strategy

Description :

In Sam Fisher's first next generation adventure, the splinter cell has a tragedy befall him. Shortly thereafter, Sam's life collapses around him. He becomes more distant from Third Echelon. In fact, he even goes so far as to get himself arrested.

But it's all part of the plan. Sam Fisher is now a double agent, working for both the NSA and a terrorist organization known as the JBA, or John Brown's Army. Sam is for the most part a good guy still. But will that remain? Will Sam do good for the NSA and bring the organization to justice, or will the lure of the terrorist group overpower and overcome Sam?

The choices you make affect that outcome. Moral questions will pop up in various places throughout the game. Do you shoot a prisoner to earn trust with the JBA, or do you hold off, keeping the NSA on your side? Whatever outcome you decide on, your trust with one will go down and the other will go up. This trust system is a new addition to Double Agent.

As you work your way through ten missions, your best friends are shadow and silence. You can go in guns blazing, but you won't get far. As a master spy, Sam will have to sneak around crates and walls, hide under vehicles and tables, sneak through highly guarded areas, and bypass electronic, fingerprint, voiceprint and retinal locked doors. You must interrogate or hack for keycodes and combinations, and you have the choice of knocking an enemy unconscious or killing them. When hanging by a rail, you can let an enemy guard walk by, or reach up, grab him and throw him to his death. Your best weapon is your mouth. Lure an enemy to your location by whistling, then sneak around him as he abandons his patrol to find the source of the noise. Your configurable weapon is really a backup.

Sam will go on many missions as a double agent. You'll be visiting the JBA headquarters in New York City, you'll travel to the Congo to rescue a soldier, you'll board a cruise ship in Cozumel wearing shorts in broad daylight with minimal cover, forcing you to change your stealth patterns. You'll wind up in the middle of a wartorn city, in the middle of a battle between guerrillas and the military, both of which want you dead. Your missions are varied, and all can be completed without firing a single bullet.

Multiplayer is similar to the past Splinter Cell games. You take on the role of either a spy or a mercenary; spies are played from the standard, third-person perspective, while mercs are played from the first-person perspective. Spies are tasked with stealing sensitive documents; mercs are tasked with killing the spies and protecting the documents. Each side has its own unique weapons and items. Spies do not have conventional weaponry, meaning nothing that can kill a merc, but they have several gadgets and devices to help them. Mercs are blessed with a high-powered rifle, grenades, and the ability to toggle various vision modes.

The PS3 version includes some additional content: a new female spy character (multiplayer), two new maps based on a new environment (multiplayer), a new set of co-op challenges and some refinements for the existing content.

UberSoldier

Published by CDV Software Entertainment AG
Developed by Burut Creative Team
Released 2006
Genre Action

Description :

ÜberSoldier is a first-person shooter that takes place during World War II, when the Nazis have found an ancient Tibetian technique to revive the dead. This technique gives the subject special powers, and the first person that speaks to the subject will be the one that he/she obeys. In their struggle to win World War II, the Nazis have started to use this technique to turn dead German soldiers into super-soldiers called "UberSoldiers" that take advantage of these special powers.

In ÜberSoldier, you play as Karl Stoltz, a German officer who was killed in a French ambush. Stoltz is now one of the ÜberSoldier test subjects. Unfortunately for the Nazis, the French discovered the lab that the ÜberSoldiers were being created in, and the first person that speaks to Stoltz ends up being a French soldier. You guessed it -- Stoltz joins the Allies and is seeking revenge against his former masters.

Along the way, Stoltz will depend on his ÜberSoldier powers to help him survive. Headshots will power up his bullet shield, which will temporarily make him invincible to enemy fire. Slashing enemies in the head with his knife will give him extra health.

Gameplay is traditional run-'n-gun. You have five weapon slots for a pistol, rifle, machinegun, rocket launcher, and grenade. If you happen to come across another version of the same gun, but you already have that gun, you will need to swap the gun you have for the gun you are picking up by pressing the use button.

ÜberSoldier uses a weapon selection system similar to Half-Life. When you select a weapon, there will be five boxes at the top of the screen that show which weapon is in the corresponding slot, and which one is selected. You then switch to that weapon by pressing the fire button. At all times, you have a knife that you can quickly slash enemies with by simply pressing the melee button. Dead enemies will drop a health pack and their weapons/ammo when they die. There is no friendly fire, and enemies die easier when they are shot in the head.

Trivia :
  • What is the relation between the game Ubersoldier and the movie U-571?

In the submarine level, when Karl Stolz - the game's hero, calls the allies to pick him up he says "...This is the seized U-571...".

Clearly this is a joke from the programmers, as no other reference from the well known movie is to be found in the game.

Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon : Advanced Warfighter

Published by Ubi Soft Entertainment Software
Developed by GRIN
Released 2006
Genre Action

Description :

The year is 2013 and you play as Captain Mitchell, commander of a Ghost Recon team, on a mission in Mexico City where rebels are attempting a coup, putting Mexico and the USA in danger.

To deal with the different situations you have to face, taking out AA-guns or defending injured personnel until the rescue team arrives, you do not only have access to top-notch weapons like the different versions of the MR-C, but also to futuristic equipment like a drone that flies over the battlefield to spot enemy units.

The PC version was developed almost independently from the Xbox 360 version, so there are notable differences between the two. The most important changes can be found in the Cross-com design. It is split into 3 parts: the support list, the video feedback and the order system. The support list is always displayed on your HUD and allows you to see all units at your disposal at all time. Through the order system, you can give them commands on the fly. The video feedback section allows you to see through the eyes of one of your team members, but unlike the Xbox 360 version, you only see rough shapes of the environment. To see it in its full glory, you have to link yourself completely into the video feed, which then obstructs your own view.

The tactical map allows you to see a satellite feed of the mission area and provides micromanagement for your team by setting waypoints for each team member and deciding when to execute them. You can also spot enemies early when they are on open ground, to better plan your attack route.

Before each mission, you can equip your squad with different weapons. There is room for multiple weapons, but each member has a maximum weight he can carry and it also influences how fast you become fatigued when sprinting. Your weaponry can be modified with silencers, front grips, red dot sights or grenade launchers. Additional ammunition can also be carried along. During fights, you can collect ammo of dead opponents, but not the weapons themselves.

When you are tired of your teammates' AI, you can play through the entire game in the co-op mode for up to 4 players (missing players are replaced by bots) or play against up to 32 players (16 more than the Xbox 360 version) in the Domination mode where two teams of Ghosts fight over the control of different zones, scattered over the map and connected by supply lines.

Hint: Extra ammunition:
If you are running low on ammunition, anytime you see a firearm laying on the ground walk over top of it. You will pick up the clip. The other Ghosts will also do this automatically if they walk over a firearm that is the same as what they are equipped with.

Hint: Restore health:
If you are not doing too well and have been hit a few times, press [Esc] to go the main menu and reload from the most recent save point. You will resume with a full health gauge.

Trivia :
  • It may seem strange to PS2 owners that second add-on to Ghost Recon, yes this very Island Thunder was released for Xbox and PC, yet not for PS2. Well, it may be hard to notice, but the third add-on, Jungle Storm, which is PS2 exclusive contains both Jungle Storm and Island Thunder full scenarios. There is very little of it said on the box cover as it looks like Jungle Storm only, but once you start the game you see Jungle Storm is the main game, but Island Thunder that was amiss for PS2 players is full contained as an alternate scenario to be played.

Using hero or specialist kits for others:
This application is used for using hero or specialists kits for your ordinary riflemen, demo, support or snipers. Note: This procedure involves editing a game file; create a backup copy of the file before proceeding. Go into your game directory, and open the "\red storm entertainment\ghost recon\mods\origmiss\kits\hero\" folder. There you will find a file corresponding to each hero. For example. "henry_ramirez". Open his or her file, copy all the *.kit files and paste them into "\red storm entertainment\ghost recon\mods\origmiss\kits\rifleman" (or "demolitions", "heavy-weapons", "sniper", or whichever class you want to add the kit to. Now even your ordinary riflemen can use the OICW, or even a sniper rifle.

Use multi-player weapons in single player mode:
Note: This procedure involves editing a game file; create a backup copy of the file before proceeding. Go into your game directory, and open the "\red storm entertainment\ghost recon\mods\mp1\" "\red storm entertainment\ghost recon\mods\mp2\" folder. Open the "kits" file, then the "multiplayer" file. There you will find the extra kits that you would normally find only in multi-player mode. Copy those kits into your "\red storm entertainment\ghost recon\mods\origmiss\kits\rifleman (or demolitions, etc.).

Hint: Boost stats:
Start a private game in cooperative mode. Play the game on the elite difficulty setting with unlimited respawns and grenades. You will get a win and 45 kills easily.

Hint: Recommended weapons:
The best series of weapon combinations to use for online play are the SA80/M136 (Anti-Tank 4) and OICW/20mm Grenade Launcher. It is not recommended that you become a sniper for online play. Many of the players that play online rush other players when each game begins, and a sniper does not have the time to find an area for spotting. Typically, the game will not last long enough for you to be a sniper and many players do not like to wait for another player to find a sniper.

Hint: Threat Indicator:
If you are able to effectively use your Threat Indicator (radar), you will be able to know where an enemy opponent is, and which direction he or she may be moving. There are two colors, yellow and red. The red circle in the middle of the Threat Indicator indicates that the enemy is 15 meters from your current position. On the outer most ring of the Threat Indicator, you will see flashes of red when opponents shoot in your direction. The yellow is a 90° viewing angle of where your enemies are. If you have a 90° angle, naturally you have four quarters to work with. When you look left and right, notice that the yellow will transfer to another quarter of the circle. The best way to find your opponent's location is to look left until the yellow changes. At the exact point that it changes, stop. Your opponent is exactly in the direction that is on the far right of your screen. The same applies to looking right and at the same point that the yellow changes to a different quarter your opponent is at the very left of your screen.

Call of Duty 2

Published by Activision Publishing, Inc.
Developed by Infinity Ward, Inc.
Released 2005
Genre Action

Description :

Call of Duty 2 is the next installment in a series of popular 1st-person perspective shooters. The game is trying to recreate the big military operations of World War II (Defence of Stalingrad, invasion in Normandy and German-British war in North Africa).

Developers from Infinity Ward divided Call of Duty 2 into three campaigns (Russian, British and American) and put into the game a lot of new features (e.g. no health indicator, option to complete mission objectives in different order). Expanded multiplayer modes are also available.

Min.OS Windows 2000
Min.RAM 256MB

Trivia :
  • One of the tank commanders in Call of Duty 2 is called Greta Garbo, after the famous Swedish actress.

  • Call of Duty 2 was the first Xbox 360 game to sell over one million units in the US.

The Battle For Caen: mis_08 9
The Battle Of El Alamein: mis_02 9

Hint: Veteran mode:
Veteran mode cuts life expectancy to three or four shots until you die. However, Veteran mode does not improve the enemy's aim or strategy. Use small blocks or small bulges of hills as cover and crawl. Because you do not get points for kills, do not take the Nazis head on. Let your allies lay some fire, if there are any. If not, throw a smoke grenade and shift between crouch and crawl positions, laying cover fire and stall some time for the smoke grenade to spread before the Nazis rush in. Use this smoke cover to fall back to the nearest safe position where you can regroup or hide and pick the Nazis off from afar.

Hint: Capture Hill 400 mission:
Pick up the scoped Gheher43 from the first bunker that you blow down the door to. Swap it for your Garand. It is very helpful. Every bunker has one so you do not have to worry about ammunition.

Hint: Determining if enemies are still alive:
Even if you shoot the enemy, he may still be alive. Make sure to aim your crosshairs at him and see if it turns red. If it does, it indicates that the enemy is still alive, and you must shoot him down more. Do not give the enemy the chance to shoot you from behind while he regains consciousness.

Hint: Grenades:
The grenade indicator is useful, however, you do not have to run away from it every time. If the indicator points that a grenade has landed near you, but you are taking cover behind a wall, you do not need to run away. Instead, the grenade will explode and not damage you at all.

Hint: Kill types:
Head shots are instant kills. Body shots require two or more shots for a kill.

Hint: Recommended weapons:
Whenever you have the chance, pick up a Kak 98. It is one of the most powerful guns in the game. There is a scoped-Kak 98 in the last level (Dragon's Teeth) in the 2 bunker in the building.

The most common bolt-action rifle is one of the best weapons for small groups of enemies. It may be a bolt-action, but it is a one-hit kill almost all the time. Make sure to keep an automatic for the slow reload.

Hitman: Blood Money

Published by Eidos Interactive Ltd.
Developed by I/O Interactive A/S
Released 2006
Genre Action

Description :

47 returns in the 4th installment of the Hitman series. This time around you'll be able to undertake tasks far more demanding than previously, in major cities such as Las Vegas, New Orleans, Los Angeles and other exotic locations. A new notoriety system will track every single one of your moves, which in turn will demand utmost calculation in order to successfully accomplish your objectives. For those of you who are tired of a direct approach, you will be given the opportunity to stage accidents and should you be suspected, bribes and "other" accidents will always be at hand.

Blood Money also gives the player the opportunity to customize weapons. This will prove to be of great use in order to successfully adapt to the mission circumstances. Use your stealth and weapon skills as you see fit, but remember the cameras, the witnesses and the outcome. If you get careless, you might end up being hunted down by other assassins.

Requirements :

Min.CPU PIV
Min.OS Win 2000
Min.RAM 512MB
Min.DirectX 9.0C
DVD ROM
Keyboard
Mouse
Offline Players 1

Cheats :

Alternate main menu:
Successfully complete the game to change the background of the main menu.

Hint: Intel at no cost:
Purchase all the intel when a mission starts. Make a not of it, then pause game play and choose to restart the mission. You will have your original starting money, and the intel will now be available for purchase again even though you know what it contained.

Hint: Newspaper headlines:
After completing a level, the newspaper information varies depending on how you did. If you did poorly, the paper will say so in the paragraph. If you shoot very little and use mostly hand to hand it will say that there is not enough information to make a ranked description of you. High accuracy states you are a well trained marksman. Try doing the level differently to see different headlines.

Hint: A New Life: Quickly get FBI clothes:
To do this normally, you would drug the donuts and feed them to the feds in the van. You would then see them get sick and pass out before entering the van again. You do not actually have to do this. As soon as you see them getting sick, you can enter the van. They are so sick, they will not notice.

Hint: A New Life: Dispose of bodies:
Head down the street to the cul-de-sac en route to thhe lady gardening with the air rifle in her back yard. Go to the trash truck. Throw a body in the back, grab the lever on the side of truck and it will start to rev up. The back will close and when it opens, the body will be gone. You can drag and grind up every body on board.

Hint: Curtains Down: Easy "Silent Assassin" rank:
This trick requires that you have the scope for your Silverballer. As soon as the level starts, run up the steps and to the right. Toss a bomb and quickly pick the lock on the first door on the left. Walk in and explode the bomb. Wait a moment, then snipe the man up in his private box and the actor walking on stage. Put your gun away and get out of there. If done correctly you will get a "Silent Assassin" rank in under a minute.

Hint: Curtains Down: Rat Club:
In the basement during the mission, there are three rats. Kill them and a keycard labelled "Rat Club" will appear on the nearby table. Go up to where you can find the keycard for the light control room and there will be a door with a keycard slot. Use the "Rat Club" keycard on the door. Inside are rats boxing (with gloves on) and playing poker.

Hint: Flatline: Get police clothes:
As soon as the mission starts, you will see a guard shack. Run to the side door and enter. The cop inside will tell you to leave. dDo so. Then, wait a moment and walk back in. He will be walking the other way and will not see you. Quickly sedate or kill him. Take his gun and clothes. Also, check the gun box next to the door for extra ammunition.

Hint: License plates:
Look at the license plates of cars on different levels. On "A New Life", the suburbs, the license plate of all the cars reads BADBLOD (Bad Blood). On "A House Of Cards", the casino, the license plate of the first limo reads "L1MONEY", or something similar.

Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones

Published by Ubisoft Entertainment SA
Developed by Ubisoft Montreal Studios
Released 2005
Genre Action,Adventure

Description :

After many dangerous adventures, the Prince finally makes his way home to Babylon, bringing with him his new bride Kaileena, the Empress of Time. Their hopes for a peaceful and happy future together are dashed, however, when they arrive in Persia to find the land ravaged by war. Kaileena is promptly captured and murdered by the evil Vizier, and her death unleashes the Sands of Time, from which the Vizier derives terrifying new powers.

Once again the Prince of Persia must stand to fight, but this time he will be stronger than ever, thanks to his new alter ego the Dark Prince, borne of the Prince's contact with the Sands. As he fights to reclaim his kingdom from the hands of a madman, he must also battle with his own inner demons as the Dark Prince threatens to consume him entirely.

The game is very similar (in terms of fight and puzzle sequences) to the previous installments of UbiSoft's Prince of Persia trilogy: The Sands of Time and Warrior Within. There are some major innovations like the character of Dark Prince, who possess the main protagonist from time to time and offers him new combos and moves. There is also new ability, called "Speed Kill", which is very effective against all opponents in the game (victims are attacked from behind and murdered in brutally fashion).

In Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones player will explore not only the streets of Babylon, but also a ruined palace of his father, temple and the famous Hanging Gardens.

Trivia :
  • Unlike the other platforms, the Wii version has an ESRB Teen rating because the bloody sequences have been toned down. Enemies bleed sand instead of blood.

Hint: Defeating the Canal Monster:
Treat this like a thrall from Prince Of Persia: Warrior Within. Begin by slashing at its legs and climb on top of it. Once you are on top, you can control him. Guide it so that it smashes into the doors. Eventually he will tire out near the end of the canal and the level will be over.

Hint: Defeating the Twin Warriors Boss:
Immediately after the room in which you must move the statue of your father down the hall, you will have your second chariot race. At the end of the race you will run into the sand enemy that you saw in the earlier intermission sequence. His brother will come with his sword and surround you in a ring of fire. Run towards the one with the sword and slash at him with your dagger. He will block it, and after a little bit his brother will slam his axe into the ground. Roll to the side to dodge it, and his axe will become stuck in the ground. Vault over him while his brother with the sword tries to slash at you. If done correctly, you will trigger a speed kill scene where you slash them both down to half health. You must try to repeat this process. When the brother with the axe jumps towards you, roll to the side and get away from him. Only go for the one with the sword. If you fail a speed kill you will be knocked to the ground and will lose a lot of health. If you find yourself on the ground, do not try to attack coming up; just roll away to the side.

Hint: Unlimited sand:
A good number of the secondary weapons have special powers. Some, like the Illusions Dagger, are instant kills if thrown and not blocked. Some will knock an opponent down with one hit, like the axes you get from the weapons racks. However, the most important secondary weapon is the Sand Gate Guard's Sword. At every Sand Gate there is one guard with red armor, who has sand flying to him from the Sand Gate. He is the only guard that can call for reinforcements. If you kill him you only have to deal with his friends.
Note: All the Sand Gates can be done with Speed Kills so that there is no need to fight anyone, but this is difficult. The red Sand Gate Guard drops his sword after you kill him. This sword's power is to regenerate one Sand Tank about every 1.5 seconds. Therefore, as long as you are carrying this sword, you will have virtually unlimited sand, unless you either throw it away or become the Dark Prince. Because you can regain this sword at any Sand Gate, it is much like having infinite sand. However, because this sword has a rather low number of hit points, if you want to keep its power do not use it in a fight; just use the dagger and your Sand Powers.

Sand Gate rewards:
Deactivate the indicated number of Sand Gates to earn the corresponding reward.

Fourth Sand Tank: 1 Sand Gate
100 Sand Credits: 2 Sand Gates
Eye of the Storm Time Power: 3 Sand Gates
Fifth Sand Tank: 4 Sand Gates
150 Sand Credits: 5 Sand Gates
Winds Of Sand Attack: 6 Sand Gates
Sixth Sand Tank: 7 Sand Gates
200 Sand Credits: 8 Sand Gates
Sand Storm Attack: 9 Sand Gates

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time

Released 2003
Genre Action,Adventure

Description :

The story in this Prince of Persia game starts out as the Prince and his father, the King of Persia, are besieging the Maharajah's castle to plunder the treasures hidden inside. In order to impress his father, the Prince sneaks inside to recover the magical Dagger of Time. He quickly learns that this dagger has the ability to control time. The malevolent Vizier has other plans for the dagger, however, and tricks the Prince into unlocking a mysterious secret of the Dagger that causes the King and many of his subjects to be turned into sand zombies. Now, the Prince must figure out what has happened and try to set things right again.

The Sands of Time is a action adventure game that updates many of the gameplay concepts from the original two games and brings them into a fully 3-dimensional world. The Prince will engage in sword fighting, wall climbing, spike dodging, puzzle solving, and more in his quest. The Prince also carries the Dagger of Time, which allows him to unleash several magical powers. The most important of these powers is the ability to reverse time. This ability allows the player to reverse their actions when they lead the Prince to his death.

Trivia :

On the opening level, just after the room in which you first see the sands of time / giant hourglass, you find a water-filled passage that has 6 murals on the walls. The contents of the murals seem to describe the legendary history of the sands of time :

1) A blue god and winged goddess cradle the earth

2) A red demon kills the blue god as he sleeps

3) The red demon stalks the earth, eating humans

4) The blue god returns from the dead and strikes down the red demon with lightning

5) The blue god collects the sand from the red demon and pours it into an hourglass

6) The blue demon grow four arms - 2 sport the hourglass - 2 carry a sword and the severed head of the red demon. Humans worship at his feet.

POP:SOT uses a modified version of Beyond Good and Evil game engine.

Several times the main characters mention the "legendary" Rustam in comparison to what the Prince is able to do. Rustam was a Persian hero noted for his great strength. Born with prematurely gray hair, Rustam slew a rampaging white elephant with a single blow at the age of ten.

The Internet marketing for Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time was Ubisoft's most successful campaign so far. Ad agency Digital Outlook targeted 15-24-year-old males with ads featuring characters from the game and its "acrobatic action gameplay". A DHTML overlay showing the Prince slicing through the computer screen with his sword had a click-through rate of 26.1%. A streaming video ad, showing the gameplay, had a click-through rate of 23.43%. These rates were 4x higher than the host site's average.

Cheats :

Hint: A Prisoner Seeking An Escape: Hangman:
When you reach the bottom of the chamber in the A Prisoner Seeking An Escape level, kill all the sand creatures and then enter the cell to the left when looking at the save point. In the left corner of the cell is a little joke on the wall. Take a closer look in first person view at the drawings you find there. Obviously the prisoners where playing hangman here.

Hint: A Soldiers Mess-Hall: Kill all:
When you enter this level, there will be a short intermission sequence showing you the area. When this is completed, do not draw your sword. Instead, run to the edge of the stairs and jump off. Walk into the middle and wait for all of the enemies to appear. Use the Mega-Freeze to attack the current enemies. This will also work for the enemies that respawn, if done correctly.

Hint: Courtyard: Magic Fountain:
After completing the trap corridor where you had to race to the slowly closing door, you will battle some Sand Monsters in the courtyard. After this has been successfully done, climb up the courtyard. When you are in the section where you have to climb up the ladder which appears above the spikes, continue until you find a Sand Cloud. Near the sand cloud is a hole in the wall. Climb up the rubble and run among the wall to grab on the ledge. Go through the hole to find yourself in a mystery area. Keep walking on the bridges until you reach a fountain. Drinking from this fountain will raise your life bar.

Hint: Daybreak: Avoid battles:
When the Prince and Farah attempt to cross the drawbridge you have lowered, many sand creatures will appear to battle you. Just run past them on the left and into the open doorway with the switch inside. They will not follow, and you will not have to fight them.

Hint: Defeating sand monsters:
Do a vault on any sand monster (or rebound over their head). Press [Retrieve] then [Attack] to destroy it.

Hint: Defeating birds:
To defeat the birds on ground, defend. Immediately after the bird attacks, attack yourself and it should hit them.

Hint: Defeating the soldiers at the mess hall:
Kill all of the first eight soldiers. Take their Sands except for the last one. Leave him on the floor. While he is down, run to the fountain and drink to get your health up. He will come back to life. Kill him again and drink more water before taking his Sand. Do this until you have full health, then take his Sand. You should now have enough health do defeat the next seven soldiers without dying.

Hint: Angry Farah:
Any time you are alone with Farah, take out your sword and hit her once (you might kill her). She should yell at you and shoot you with her bow.

Hint: Retrieving sand in-combat:
Vault over an enemy or rebound over their heads. Then, as you are over them, click [Attack] then immediately press [Retrieve]. This will slash the creature and immediately afterwards retrieve its sand while it is stunned. Note: This works best on the creatures that cannot block a vault-attack.

Description :

Prince of Persia: Warrior Within is the direct sequel to Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. The game comes with a new, darker look for the Prince and his surroundings. The fights are more brutal and take a larger part in the game, has the Prince now has enhanced fighting moves including new attack moves via walls and poles.

Even though the fights make up a large part of the game, the puzzle sections are still present and more complicated than before. A new move in the puzzle sections of the game is the curtain slide, which allows you to slide down to the ground slowly. There are still plenty of options for time manipulation and the storyline also lets you travel back and forth in time, visiting the same locations in an alternate time period.

  • In the December 2005 issue of Wired Magazine, Jordan Mechnar was not happy with the direction of Warrior Within. He said "I'm not a fan of the artistic direction, or the violence that earned it an M rating. The story, character, dialog, voice acting, and visual style were not to my taste." However, he was quite happy when the direction taken by The Two Thrones.
  • Other than owning the rights for this game, Jordan Mechnar was not involved with Warrior Within's development. At the time of the game development, he was preparing a screenplay for Prince of Persia The Movie which will be produced by Jerry Bruckheimer(producer of Bad Boys, The Rock, Pearl Harbor, King Arthur).
Cheats :

Alternate ending:
Complete the game with all nine Life Upgrades.

Illustration Gallery:
Successfully complete the game to unlock the Illustration Gallery.

Hint: Defeating the first Boss:
Block and do the attack were you jump behind her, and attack her twice. Remember to block immediately after this or she will hit you down.

While fighting the first Boss after you become the Sandwraith, use slow time to easily kill it. It will rarely get a hit on you, and your Sand Tank will regenerate during this time. Whenever it runs out, immediately start slow time again. Remember to stay behind it or its attack will knock you off the platform.

Hint: Defeating the Crow mini-Boss:
Use the following trick to defeat the mini-Boss that is formed from the evil crow enemies encountered in the beginning of the game after the ship level. Jump over him and slash him in the air repeatedly. By doing this, he cannot hit you. You must wait a few seconds between attacks. Also, in the last two stages, you will be on platforms; be careful that you do not fall off.

Hint: Defeating The Dahaka:
You must have all nine Life Upgrades to gain the final sword, The Water Sword, to fight The Dahaka and receive the alternate ending. Before you enter the Central Chamber the second time, make sure you go to the pedestal in the middle of the hourglass room to receive the Water Sword. Enter the Central Chamber to trigger the intermission sequence. Then, chase the empress to trigger the alternate Boss fight with The Dahaka. This can be a very tricky Boss (especially under the hard difficulty setting), and he may seem very cheap at first. Immediately when the fight starts, trigger the Ravages Of Time attack against the beast. Do this twice, then run around and refill your Sand Tanks. The Dahaka will try to shoot his tendrils up through the ground in front of you. The best tactic to avoid them is to run around in a circle -- they will not touch you. After your Sand Tanks are filled, go back towards him. When you get close to him, he will shoot tendrils out of his stomach at you. Roll under them then activate Slow Time and hit him until his health is about half way down. An intermission sequence will start, and the beast will be hanging on the side of the cliff. Run over to him and use Ravages Of Time as much as possible. When his health gets too low, he will jump up into the center of the stage and regain half of his health. This is when he becomes angry and things get tricky. He will try to jump on you multiple times. Run around the stage collecting the sands, rolling out of the way when he jumps towards you. If he misses you, he will try to shoot his tendrils at you; just run or roll away from him. Eventually he will go back to shooting tendrils out of the ground. When your sands are full, run towards him and use the same tactic as before. When your down to a couple of Sand Tanks, fill up again. The strategy is to get his health as low as possible before he gets knocked to the side of the cliff, then use either Slow Time or Ravages to kill him off before he jumps back up again.

Get the Light Sword. Ensure that you do not throw the Light Sword. Hang onto it until the Dahaka fight. Beat on him as instructed above, but when he hangs on the ledge for the first time, slow time and hit him with the Light Sword (not the Water Sword). He should die before he is able to jump back up. If not, you will defeat him the second time.

Slow down time and attack until he falls off the edge. When he does, slow time again and attack until his life is gone. If you need more sand, there is some scattered around the platform.

Hint: Defeating the Golem Boss:
To defeat the harder Golem Boss that throws exploding monsters at you, have at least five Sand Tanks full. Activate Ravage Of Time and hit him behind his legs (which has no armor). Then, jump on his back and onto his head. Immediately activate Ravage Of Time again so you can hit his head faster. When it wears off, activate Eye Of The Storm, then keep hitting him. You should then finish him off.

Hint: Defeating Shadi:
This is an easy but precise way to defeat Shadi. Attack her until you hear a large "clank", which indicates that she has blocked. Then, roll to the side of her. When this is done, most of the time you will be able to get behind her and repeat the attack. You should get to hit her about four times (and possibly up to six times) before she blocks. However, sometimes you may only hit her about two times before she blocks. You must listen for the "clank".

Hint: Glowing sword:
Go to the Mystic Caves with a sword that can break walls. Pass the first gate that unloced to find a passage divided by a pit with a switch on the floor. Jump into the pit and get through the breakable section of wall at one end. Break the weapon rack that is behind it to get the glowing sword. This secondary weapon does a large amount of damage, but with every use will also increase damage given to the Prince.

Hint: Pink flamingo:
After getting a sword that can break walls, get to the Garden Hall (Present). Begin at the middle passageway at the very top of the hall. Wall run to the rope, then wall run to the central platform. Turn to the left and walk through the rubble that should be in front of you. Turn around and hold onto the platform you were just standing on. Then, jump across the gap to the next platform. To your left is another platform with a switch. Once there, use the switch then go back to the platform you were just on. Climb on the block that is now here, then do a vertical wall run and jump to get to the beam above. Walk along the beam to the right then jump to the ledge on the far wall. Follow the ledge until you find an alcove. Drop down into the alcove and use your sword to break the rear wall on the right side. The pink flamingo weapon is hidden in the weapon rack. One hit from it can knock anything except Bosses to the ground.

Hint: Rayman's glove:
Get to the main tomb in the Catacombs. Exit this area to begin a Dahaka chase. Notice that the passageway branches during the second and third Dahaka chase. Turn left here and find the weapon rack immediately to your left. Break the weapon rack to collect Rayman's glove. One hit from it can knock anything except Bosses to the ground.

Hint: Teddy bear:
One of the miscellaneous secondary weapons is the teddy bear. Locate it after earning the Scorpion Sword in the clock (west) tower. There are three encounters with a giant golem enemy in the clock tower when you initially go through it. The first is before you start negotiating the vertical climbing of the tower (past); the second is atop the clock tower (past); and the third is stationary and throws exploding monsters in the clock tower's second area (past). Look for the room where the second giant golem enemy is found. You need to be in the present (find a time portal) and drop into the water-filled dead end past the golem's room. Break the wall and retrieve the teddy bear. The teddy bear is almost unbreakable and does almost no damage, but has the ability to restore lost life to the Prince with each successful blow on an enemy.

Hint: Play as Sandwraith:
When you reach the portal room for the second time, when you have to switch the time to the present for the first time, the Prince will say that something is wrong. You must run the switches on the wall to make the portal work correctly. Do not run the switches on the wall. Instead, enter the portal as it is and you will switch the time to the present. Save the game, then exit and load the game. You will now be playing as the maggot man. In this mode you will constantly lose life and much more health when hit than in normal mode. However your attacks will be very powerful and you are much more quicker.
Note: Save the game on a different file if you wish to continue the game as the Prince.

Hitman: Contracts

Published by Eidos, Inc.
Developed by IO Interactive A/S
Released 2004
Genre Action

Description :

Hitman: Contracts is the third game in the Hitman series by Eidos Interactive and Io Interactive.

You again take on the role of 47, the famous hitman of the past two games. The story opens with 47 being shot, and he is lying on the floor, dying. The whole game takes place in "flashbacks", and the missions you complete are missions that 47 has "already done", and he is reminsicing about them on his death bed. The beginning level opens up in the insane asylum where you ended the first game. People who finished the first game will immediately recognize it, but you do not need any past experience to enjoy the game or story.

You will be tasked with killing various targets or completing objectives, and you have a variety of ways to do so.

Hitman can be played as stealthily or as aggressively as you want. The game awards sneaky players with the "Silent Assassin" ranking, which gives you a special weapon upon completion. To do this, you must not fire your weapon at anybody except the target, and even then, you can only kill the target with one shot. You cannot kill anybody else, unless they are specific targets. Hitman: Contracts rewards those who are up to the challenge.

Min.OS Win98
Min.RAM 256MB
Min.DirectX 9.0b
CDROM Speed 8x

Trivia :
  • A large majority of the levels in Hitman:Contracts are simply remakes of the levels from the original Hitman Codename 47 game. Almost all of the major missions from the original game have been remade in Contracts, the only major levels that weren't remade were the Columbia mission where you assassinate Pablo Ochoa, and the deathmatch-style final confrontation in the Asylum (both of these levels were very action-oriented, and were probably deemed inappropriate given the Hitman series new focus on more crafty, less rambo-ish gameplay).

Second chance:
When you are killed, the screen will turn black and white briefly. Try to shoot four people in the head while this is happening to resume playing with barely any health.

All weapons in training level:
Start the training level, then enable the end level code. You will complete it with a "Silent Assassin" rank. Choose the training level again, and all the weapons in the game will be unlocked in the weapons storage area. This also will unlock the Cardboard Tube weapon.

Hint: Asylum Aftermath: Future targets in tubes:
After you have completed the game and also collected Orthmeyer's Keycard from The Wang Fou Incident mission, go to the Asylum Aftermath mission. Proceed as normal until you reach the hallway with the mirror-window going along the right wall. Proceed into the next room, go down the short staircase, then go through the double doors. You should be in a room with cryo -tubes of clones inside. Go further into the next room. Labeled on each of the tubes are names of some targets that will be found in later levels (except for one, Otto Ort-Meyer). They also all look the same.

Hint: Asylum Aftermath: Enforcer sniper rifle:
Go along your normal route all the way to the end of the level. Do not go outside. When you get paced the for SWATs, turn left and go through the door. Go up the stairs and kill the SWAT. There is a cabinet with glass doors. Open it and get the sniper rifle. Finish the level and you will have unlocked the Enforcer sniper rifle.

Hint: Asylum Aftermath: Mini-gun:
Get a guard suit and take the elevator up to the mansion in The Wang Fou Incident mission. Get the key card (this will also get you the Desert Eagle). As soon as you complete the mission, go to the Asylum Aftermath mission. Go through the first set of double doors and there will be a red light in the hallway. Look to your right and there will be glass doors that you cannot break. This is where your key card is used to open up the doors. Kill the man and pick up the gun. You will walk very slow, and it is a mini gun. To unlock it at the gun selection screen, kill everyone in your way and escape while having the mini gun in your possession.

Hint: Asylum Aftermath: Gold Desert Eagle dual guns:
If you have the card from The Wang Fou Incident mission, go through your regular route until you get to a place where you see double doors in front of you or if you look to the right you see a man and a door down by the stairs. Go down by the stairs and open up the door with the card obtained from The Wang Fou Incident mission. The Gold Desert Eagles will be directly in front of you. Pick them up and finish the mission. When you go to the mission selection screen, you will find two Desert Eagle Magnum guns.

Hint: The Meat King's Party: Meat hook death:
In order for this to work, you must knock out the target you want to hang and not kill him. If you are out of Syringes, then use the pistol whip. Drag the target to the platform by the hook controls and stop the rail when an empty hook is in front of you. Get on the platform along with the dragged body. Make sure you are still dragging him and select "Hang On Meat Hook". Check the map and you will still see him as alive. If you want to hide the body, go to the derail controls on the northeast side of your position (the start/stop controls). After starting the rail again, move over to the derail controls and select "Derail". From that point on, all the bodies will come in from the main, spin, and move over to a hidden position for derailing. At that point, the body should be hidden.

Hint: The Seafood Massacre: Phantom chef:
Once the mission starts, run to the restaurant's basement where you cut the gas off. Grab the restaurant outfit and quickly run to kill the Red Dragon Negotiator. Dump him in the sewer, grab his amulet, and climb out. Next, head back to the basement. The guards will not know that you are not a restaurant employee. Cut the gas. Hide in the room where you got the outfit from and wait for the chef to go over to the gas thing. Quickly, yet quietly, exit the room and get behind the Chef. Note: Make sure you have the syringe out before you walk out the room. Just when he turns his head and spots you, stab him with the syringe. If done correctly, he should stand up and slowly walk away, leaving you in the motion as if you stabbed him. He will walk out the door, and get knocked out there.

Hint: Traditions Of The Trade: Walk around hotel with sniper rifle:
Normally, it is impossible to get a sniper rifle into a hotel without getting it taken away. However, there is a simple way to avoid this. After you show the guard your conference ID, walk up to the metal detector and stop directly in front of it. Then, drop the suitcase. Walk through the metal detector, then turn around and pick up the suitcase. It will not set off the detector, and you will be able to walk around with it. Note: Do the same trick to get past the other metal detectors.

If you start the level with the W200 Sniper Rifle, you can easily bring it inside. The first way is to drop the case before you enter the hotel, then look on your map for a small room with two cops in it. In that room is a switch to shut off metal detectors. Simply go back outside and collect your items. The second way is to dump all your items except the sniper case with the W2000 in it. Walk through casual, and you should be able to get in without any problems. A third way (not recommended) can be done if you are very skilled with a sniper rifle. Aim for the furthest cop, then quickly hit the other. Note: It takes a while to reload.

Hint: Traditions Of The Trade: Easy completion:
Instead of going through the trouble of getting the rose box when you first enter the back room, notice the bottle of whiskey. Assuming you have some type of poison, you can simply kill off one of the targets by using it. To get to the other target, you must go to the floor that his room is on. If you go to the room next to his (to the left if you are facing the door) and walk out onto the balcony, you will see one of his guards come out occasionally on patrol. When he does, a woman on a balcony past his will walk out and have a smoke. Once they both there, return to their rooms. You can jump to the balcony belonging to the target. Using stealth, you can open the door then walk up behind the guard and kill him using the fiber wire. After this is done, pick up his weapon and a silenced pistol. Grab the pistol and creep into the bathroom to eliminate the second target. Then, drop the pistol as to not set off any metal detectors that you need pass to reach to the X-ray room Then, return to the third floor, to the half where your room is located. If you open one door, you can step out onto the roof. Creep across the roof, making sure the guard in the pool below cannot see you, and sneak in through a window. Silently eliminate the guard and creep into the X-ray room. Get the bomb and leave by the way that you came from. Calmly walk downstairs and leave the hotel This will only work if you have killed the two Bosses to acquire the X-ray room key. Also, bring the briefcase from Room 202. Without this, you will be shot by the guards.

Hint: Bullet time:
When you die and can shoot people in slow motion, enable the "God mode" code. You will be in bullet time until you headshoot four people.
